CITY OF dERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />COUNC,~MEMBERS <br /> <br />Minutes of: <br />Date of Meeting: <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />March 6, 2001 <br />9 a.m. <br />Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Thompson. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Gale Schulte, Public <br />Safety Officer for the month of January 200I, who was honored by the Greater <br />Riverside Chambers of Commerce at Good Morning Riverside. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge, assisted by Fire Chief Dave Carlson, presented Certificates of <br />Appreciation to Magnolia and Sunrise Rotary Clubs for their recent donation toward <br />the purchase of Forward Looking Infra Red (FLIR) systems. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Park and Recreation Director Terry <br />Nielsen, Urban Forester Dave Roger, and Nancy Melendez of Keep Riverside Clean <br />and Beautiful, proclaiming Tuesday, March 6, 2001, as Arbor Day. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each <br />item. <br /> <br />M1NUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of February 27, 2001, were approved as presented. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> CASE EP-007-001 ~ JURUPA BET. VAN BUREN AND CREST/JURUPA BET. <br /> VAN BUREN AND TYLER <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject <br />to conditions an environmental initial study of the City of Riverside Public Works <br />!Department's proposal to construct two segments of Jurupa Avenue between Van <br />Buren Boulevard and Crest Avenue and to construct additional improvements to the <br />existing portions of Jurupa Avenue between Van Buren Boulevard and Tyler Street. <br />Although Jurupa Avenue is planned as a four-lane, l l0-foot arterial street, the <br />recommended street configuration of Jurupa Avenue at this time is a two-lane, <br />divided roadway with on-street parking and a bike lane. The City Council upheld the <br />Planning Commission's determination that the project would not have a significant <br />effect on the environment and concurred in the adoption of a Mitigated Negative <br />Declaration. <br /> <br />CASE MP-004-001 - PALMYRITA/NORTHGATE <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject <br />to conditions the request of Gabric and Associates, Inc., on behalf of James Barton, <br />for the review of an industrial plot plan to construct a new 112,711-square-foot <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />86-267 <br /> <br /> <br />
