The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Gale Schulte, Public Safety Officer for the month of January 200I, who was honored by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce at Good Morning Riverside. Mayor Loveridge, assisted by Fire Chief Dave Carlson, presented Certificates of Appreciation to Magnolia and Sunrise Rotary Clubs for their recent donation toward the purchase of Forward Looking Infra Red (FLIR) systems. Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Park and Recreation Director Terry Nielsen, Urban Forester Dave Roger, and Nancy Melendez of Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful, proclaiming Tuesday, March 6, 2001, as Arbor Day. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. M1NUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of February 27, 2001, were approved as presented. PLANNING COMMISSION CASE EP-007-001 ~ JURUPA BET. VAN BUREN AND CREST/JURUPA BET. VAN BUREN AND TYLER The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject to conditions an environmental initial study of the City of Riverside Public Works !Department's proposal to construct two segments of Jurupa Avenue between Van Buren Boulevard and Crest Avenue and to construct additional improvements to the existing portions of Jurupa Avenue between Van Buren Boulevard and Tyler Street. Although Jurupa Avenue is planned as a four-lane, l l0-foot arterial street, the recommended street configuration of Jurupa Avenue at this time is a two-lane, divided roadway with on-street parking and a bike lane. The City Council upheld the Planning Commission's determination that the project would not have a significant effect on the environment and concurred in the adoption of a Mitigated Negative Declaration. CASE MP-004-001 - PALMYRITA/NORTHGATE The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject to conditions the request of Gabric and Associates, Inc., on behalf of James Barton, for the review of an industrial plot plan to construct a new 112,711-square-foot Present Motion Second All Ayes 86-267
