CITY OF K_ ?ERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />COUNC~MEMBERS <br /> <br />Minutes of: <br />Date of Meeting: <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />February 20, 2001 <br />9 a.m. <br />Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Following the Redevelopment Agency meeting, Mayor Loveridge called the City <br />Council meeting to order at 9:20 a.m. <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Defenbaugh. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br />Mayor Loveridge called on Joyce Bates and Lisa Munoz, City Campaign <br />Coordinators, who assisted in presenting the United Way awards to City departments. <br /> <br />STAFF INTRODUCTION <br />Mayor Loveridge called on City Attorney Stan Yamamoto and Supervising Deputy <br />City Attorney Eileen Teichert who introduced returning Deputy City Attorney <br />Raychele Banac. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each <br />item but amending the Consent Calendar approval on page 86-235 to read "...with <br />Councilmembers Beaty and Defenbaugh abstaining from voting on approval of the <br />February 6, 2001, Minutes because they were absent on City business." <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of February 13,2001, were approved as amended. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5734 - RIVERSIDE CANAL TUNNEL REHABILITATION - GRAND <br />TERRACE ROAD/VIVIENDA <br />The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5734 to Golden State Boring & Pipe Jacking, Inc., <br />in the amount of $543,025, for tunnel rehabilitation of the Riverside Canal at Grand <br />Terrace, Phase I, located near the intersection of Grand Terrace Road and Vivienda <br />Avenue, in the City of Grand Terrace; and (2) authorized the preparation of the <br />appropriate contract documents for execution by the City Manager or his designee. <br /> <br />AMEND CONSOLIDATED PLAN - PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED <br />The City Council authorized a public hearing to be scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, <br />2001, at 9 a.m. to consider an amendment to the City's Consolidated Plan for federal <br />funding to change the definition of "Substantial Amendment" to place a monetary <br />ceiling of $10,000 and to redefine close-out and/or transfer of funds for successfully <br />completed federal projects. <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />86-246 <br /> <br /> <br />
