Steve Watson, Assistant Planner, presented the staff <br />report. William Cloake, owner, said he had additional pictures and <br />distributed them to the Cultural Heritage Board. There was no one in the <br />audience requesting to speak on this item. Following discussion the <br />Cultural Heritage Board recommended that the City Council: 1. Determine <br />Motion <br />X <br />that Planning Case P16 -0382 City Landmark Designation, is categorically <br />Second <br />X <br />exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per <br />All Ayes <br />Sections 15061(b)(3) and 15308 of the CEQA Guidelines as it can be seen <br />with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity will have a <br />significant effect on the environment, and said action is intended to <br />preserve the historic character of the building and site as well as provide <br />notice of the historic status; and 2. Approve Planning Case P16 -0382 <br />based on the findings outlined in the staff report, thereby designating the <br />Nielsen Pool House as a City Landmark. <br />PLANNING CASE P16-0383— Historic Designation —2979 Dexter Drive <br />Historic Designation of the American Legion Post No. 79 as a Structure of <br />Merit and amend the Municipal Code with the application of the CR- <br />Cultural Resources Overlay Zone to the existing Public Facilities Zone. <br />Scott Watson, Assistant Planner, presented the staff report. Applicant <br />spoke in support of the designation. There was no one in the audience <br />requesting to speak to this item.
