In <br />conjunction with conditional use permits, the City Council is authorized to grant <br />variances to the Zoning Ordinance as deemed appropriate. No one was present <br />wishing to speak on the matter. No protests, written or oral, were presented. <br />Following discussion, the public hearing was officially closed. The City Council <br />upheld the action of the Planning Commission in denying the appeal based on <br />findings outlined in the written staff report. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE RZ-004-990 - 3065-3085 VAN BUREN - CONTINUED <br />3 P .M.--Further heanng was called on the proposal of the City of Riverside to place <br />approximately 1.33 acres of vacant land at 3065-3085 Van Buren Boulevard located <br />approximately 1,300 feet southeasterly of the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Van <br />Buren Boulevard in Zone MP and remove same from Zones C-3-X-20. At the <br />request of the property owner the public hearing was continued to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, <br />November 2, 1999. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br /> <br />Councilmembers Defenbaugh and Beaty were excused during the following <br />presentation. <br /> <br />MAYORS' INSTITUTE ON CITY DESIGN <br />Mayor Loveridge reported on the Mayors' Institute on City Design held October 6-8, <br />1999, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
