CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> <br /> COUNCI LM E N <br /> <br />, <br /> <br /> Present IX~AJA~X',X~XIX: <br /> <br />I <br />~Roll Call: <br />I <br /> <br />! <br />,In the absence of Mayor Brown and Mayor Pro Tempore Shepard, Councilwoman Frizzel <br />~ sumed the Chair and presided. <br /> as <br />I <br /> <br />~ COUNCILMAN SHEPARD - EXCUSED ABSENCE <br />~The City Council declared the absence of Councilman Shepard to be excused because of <br />|his need to attend board meetings of the Riverside County Transportation Commission and' <br />ithe Riverside Transit Agency. <br /> <br />,BUDGET DISCUSSION <br /> The City Council continued consideration of the Proposed Budget for the City of <br /> Riverside for the Fiscal Year 1981-82, as prepared and submitted by the City Manager. <br /> <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES DEPARTMENT <br />The Public Utilities Director presented the proposed budget for his department as <br />contained in pages 285 through 333 of the Preliminary Annual Budget and in pages 203 <br />through 219 of the Preliminary Program Budget, and answered questions from the City <br />Council. Following discussion, the City Council accepted and tentatively adopted the <br />Public Utilities Department budget as presented. <br /> <br /> NON-DEPARTMENTAL <br />Budget Officer Weed gave a brief overview of the NoneDepartmental portion of the <br />~proposed budget as presented on pages 79 through 93 of the Preliminary Annual Budget <br />'and on pages 61 through 73 of the Preliminary Program Budget. <br /> <br /> MISSION INN FOUNDATION <br />, <br /> Representatives of the Mission Inn Foundation and other interested persons spoke in <br /> support of the proposed budget for.the Mission Inn, and answered questions from the <br /> City Council. Following discussion, the City Council accepted the report from the <br /> Mission Inn Foundation, and thanked those present for their appearance. <br /> <br />VISITOR AND CONVENTION BUREAU <br />Mr. George Condos spoke in support of the fundinglevel requested by the Bureau, <br />rather than that submitted by the City Manager. Following discussion, the City <br />Council accepted the Visitor and Convention Bureau budget as submitted by the City <br />Manager for the time being, and thanked Mr. Condos for being present. <br /> <br />ANIMAL CONTROL <br />Budget Officer Weed discussed the Animal Control portion of the budget, and advised <br />that impound and boarding fees have not been increased for many years.
