<br /> Proposed Section 60~ perna~ing to City Prosecutor was elim~a=ed fr~ the proposed

<br />With regard to proposed Sen=ion 408 relating to meetings of City Council-appointed
<br />standing Council cousmittees, it was requested that the language be changed to
<br />include the City Clerk's Office in the notification procedure.
<br />
<br />Following further discussion regarding proposed Sections 1406 and 1407 pertaining to
<br />the School Board and proposed Section 1403 pertaining to ten-year review of the
<br />Charter, without for~al motion, further consideration of these matters was deferred
<br />tO allow time for representatives of the School Board no contact legislators regard-
<br />ing possible le~islation; and Councilman Loveridge was requested to work winh the
<br />city Attorney to provide possible wording for the proposed SecTion 1403.
<br />
<br />Section 1101 of the proposed Charter was changed to provide for submission by the
<br />City Manager of a proposed budget to the City Council at least 35 calendar days,
<br />rather than 45 calendar days, prior to the beginning of each fiscal year.
<br />
<br />Following a brief discussion regarding proposed Section 703 relating to terms of
<br />members of existing boards and commissions, it was the decision of the City Council
<br />to tentatively approve the proposed Charter as presented by the Charter Review
<br />Committee and as modified by the City Council, with the exception of those proposed
<br />Sections 1403, 1406 and 1407, which were deferred to June 9, 1981.

<br />The Members of the City Council recessed to the Conference Room adjoining the Council
<br />%Chamber for a closed session to discuss possible lawsuits.
