<br /> The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Bob Toll representing the
<br /> Riverside Chamber of Commerce and Mario Perez representing the Arlington Chamber of
<br /> Conzmerce.
<br />
<br /> The City ,Manager introduced Louis M. Hernandez, the City's new Park and Recreation
<br /> Director.
<br />
<br /> Andres Soto, Publicity Chairman of the Cinco de ,Mayo Committee, presented outs=ending
<br /> community volunteers, Mercy Corona and Janet Goeske.

<br /> CONSENT CALENDAR
<br /> The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br /> those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for Motion
<br /> consideration, with the exception of the proposed RC Zone mapping project, which was Second :X
<br /> removed to the Discussion Calendar. All Ayes

<br /> ZONING CASE C-24-801 - L. AKINS - 2188 CARLTON PLa. CE
<br />,A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that on
<br />,April 9, 1981, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to
<br />;conditions the request of L. Akins, Zoning Case C-24-801, for a conditional use permit
<br />!to establish, operate and maintain a child care center for 12 children on property
<br />situated on the southerly side of Carlton Place westerly of Kansas Avenue, located at
<br />2188 Carlton Place, in Zone R-l-80; and determined that the proposal would not have a
<br />significant adverse environmental effect. I: was determined that the City Council
<br />!would not set the matter for public bearing.

<br /> PARCEL .MAP 17543 - R. BECK - COOK WESTERLY OF TOMLINSON
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />~April 9, 1981, the Commission, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to
<br />conditions the proposal of R. Beck to divide 14.1 acres of vacant land into four
<br />~parcels situated on the southerly side of Cook Avenue westerly of Tomlinson Avenue, in
<br />~Zone RC, Parcel Map 17543; and determined that the proposal would not have a
<br />~significant adverse environmental effect. It was determined that this matter would
<br />'not be set for public hearing by the City Council.

<br />iCASE EPC-31-801 - PROPOSED GRADING PLaN - TENTATIVE TRACT 9037 - TYLER NLY. OF

<br />:A communication was presented from 'the Environmental Protection Commission advising
<br />:that, on April 15, 1981, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, determined
<br />~hat the proposed grading plan for phases I and 2 of Tentative Tract 9037, a proposal
<br />,to develop approximately 20.6 acres of land located on the westerly side of Tyler
<br />:S~reet northerly of the Riverside Company Canal into 72 single-family residential
<br />:lots, would not have a significan~ adverse environmental effect providing certain
<br />mitigating measures are met, Case EPC-31-801. The Commission finding was upheld by
<br />:the City Council.
