Michael Andrews, project manager of CAL-ID, to <br />present the Golden Bear Award to Officer Bruce Blomdahl and Evidence Technician <br />Tom Irish. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge called on Public Utilities Director Bill Camahan to present two <br />electric-powered bicycles to Police Chief Carroll for use by patrol officers. The <br />bicycles were funded with Public Benefits Funds. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each <br />item. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-007-990 - 5801 CHICAGO <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject <br />to conditions the request of Nextel Communications for a conditional use permit to <br />establish a wireless communication facility consisting of an unmanned equipment <br />shelter and a 75-foot-high monopole disguised as a palm tree on approximately 2.94 <br />acres developed with the Evergreen Masonic Temple at 5801 Chicago Avenue in <br />Zone R-l-80. The City Council upheld the Commission's determination that the <br />proposal would not have a significant effect on the environment; concurred in the <br />adoption of a Mitigated Negative Declaration; and found there is no evidence that the <br />proposed project will have any potential for adverse effect on wildlife resources and <br />the impacts of the project are found to be de minimis pursuant to Section 711.4 of the <br />Fish and Game Code. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-010-990 - 10495 MAGNOLIA <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject <br />to conditions the request of Hasan Abuislaih for a conditional use permit to establish <br />a car stereo sales and installation business in a lease space of approximately 3,156 <br />square feet within an existing commercial building at 10495 Magnolia Avenue <br />situated on the northwest side of Magnolia Avenue opposite Banbury Drive in Zone <br />C-2.
