<br />The Minutes of the Meetings of June 1, 2 and 3, 1982, were approved as submitted.
<br />
<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Bobbie Mays representing the
<br />Riverside Chamber of Commerce, John Guthrie representing the Arlington Chamber of
<br />Commerce and Judy Forher representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce.

<br /> CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />~The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />~those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for
<br />consideration, with the exception of the City Council office space modification which
<br />,was removed to the Discussion Calendar.

<br />]CITY PLANNING COMMISSION

<br />~CASE VAC-7-812 - STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY - DOWN BETWEEN EAST LA CADENA AND DOROTHY
<br />:A communication was presented from zhe City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />~May 20, 1982, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, unconditionally approved
<br />.the proposed vacation of an approximately 21-foot-wide, 213-foot-long unused street
<br />,right-of-way within the Downs Subdivision and the Roquet Tract, situated on the south-
<br />,west side of Down Street between East La Cadeta and Dorothy Drives, Case VAC-7-812.
<br />The Public Works Department was requested to furnish the necessary legal description
<br />required in connection with the proposed vacation, and the City Attorney was authorized
<br />to prepare the appropriate resolution for City Council consideration to set the matter
<br />for public hearing.

<br />BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT
<br />
<br /> ZONING CASE V-115-812 - S. MENLO - 1860 UNIVERSITY AVENUE - DENIAL
<br />A communication was presented from the Board of Zoning Adjustment advising that, on
<br />May 17, 1982, the Board, by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, denied the request of S. Menlo,
<br />Zoning Case V-115-812, for a variance to install a change of face on an existing
<br />nonconforming pole sign 45 feet in height, 200 square feet in display area, and which
<br />also contains a reader sign board. approximately 96 square feet in area and 17 feet
<br />high, where only one freestanding double-faced identification sign not exceeding
<br />35 feet in height and 100 square feet in area is permitted, on property situated on
<br />the southerly side of University Avenue between Ottawa and Chicago Avenues, located at
<br />1860 University Avenue, in Zone C-3. It was determined that the matter would not be
<br />'set for public hearing by the City Council, and the denial stands.

<br />iTIME EXTENSION ON CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL - ZONING CASE R-92-789
<br />~A communication was presented from Ernest N. Webb, Albert A. Webb Associates,
<br />re u s one-year time extension from July 10, 1982, in which to complete the
<br />, q e t~ng a
<br />,conditions of approval under Zoning Case R-92-789, being approximately .22 acre of
<br />]land situated on the northeasterly side of Roosevelt Street southeasterly of Magnolia
<br />~Avenue, located in the 3700 block of Roosevelt Street. Petition for a zone change was
<br />granted on July 10, 1979, and this is the second request for a time extension. The
<br />.time extension was granted to July 10, 1983, as requested.

<br />~TIME EXTENSION ON CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL - ZONING CASE R-13-790
<br />~A communication was presented from Thomas L. Miller, on behalf of the property owners,
<br />:requesting a one-year time extension to September 18, 1982, retroactive to
<br />:September 18, 1981, in which to complete the conditions of approval under Zoning Case
<br />~R-13-790, relating to approximately 1.87 acres of land situated on the northwesterly
<br />~side of Magnolia Avenue southwesterly of Simmons Avenue, located in the 11500 block of
