<br />3:00 P.H.--Bearin~ was called on the request of K. Mc14illin, et al., ZoninZ Case
<br />V-88-812, for the followinZ variances on property situated on the southeast comer of
<br />Columbus Avenue and Ordway Street, located at 6350-6390 Columbus Avenue, in Zone 14-1:
<br />(1) to pernhtt a ~-foo~ encroachment into the required 20-foot setbacks by an existing
<br />building; (2) to permit an existing chain link fence ~o encroach up to 20 feet into
<br />the required 20-fooc setbacks along the front and street side yards; (3) to waive the
<br />landscaping requirement for the front and street side yard areas; (~) to permit one
<br />~parking space to encroach six ~eat into the required ~ront yard landscaped setback
<br />:area; and (5) to permit the use of redwood headers in lieu of six-inch concrete curbinZ
<br />:to separate planted areas from paved parking and drive areas. As heretofore directed
<br />:by the City Council, the minutes of the Board of Zoning Adjustment per~aining I:o this
<br />lcase are on file and are a part of the evidence submitted at this hearinS, whether or
<br />lnot any portion thereof is read or discussed. The co~,-ication from the Board of
<br />:Zonin8 Adjustment stated that the Board, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved
<br />~Requests (1) and (2); approved Request (3) with modifications, subject no the condi-
<br />:riots listed in full in the minutes of the Board pertainin8 to this matter; denied
<br />:Requests (4) and (5); and determined that the approved variances would not have a
<br />~slSnificant adverse environmental effect. The PlannitS Director presented depart-
<br />:mental recommendations, to$ether with raps of che area. Mr. Mc14illin spoke in support
<br />:of the action of the Board of Zonin$ Adjustment. No protests, written or oral, were
<br />~presented. Following a brief discussion, the hearinS was officially closed. The City
<br />~Council upheld the decision of the'Board of Zoning Adjustment, and determined the=
