Following presentation of the report from <br />~Chairman Waitsman relative to Commission activities during the past year, questions Motion <br />were answered from the City Council; and the City Council thanked Mr. Waitsman for his Second <br />report. All Ayes <br /> <br /> Mayor Brown excused himself at this time, and Mayor Pro Tompore Buster assumed the <br /> Chair and presided. , <br /> <br /> The Invocation was given by the Rev. Jerry Louder, Mount Vernon Baptist Church. <br /> <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> The Minutes of the Meeting of March 9, 1982, were approved as submitted. Motion :X~ <br /> Second ~X' <br /> All Ayes <br /> <br /> The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Dick Fanode representing the <br /> Riverside Chamber of Commerce and Dennis Johnson representing the La Sierra Chamber of <br /> Commerce. <br /> <br />~Mayor Brown returned at this time, assumed the Chair and presided. <br /> <br />'Ma or <br />, y Brown introduced Rev. Jerry Louder, who presented a plaque to Councilwoman <br /> Mansfield as this year's most fervent and outstanding worker in the Hillside Community. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br />;The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to <br />'tho items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for <br />~ se <br />consideration, with the exception of the Park and Recreation 5K and 10K runs, the <br />~private contribution to Police Department Program and the center median openin~ on Motion ~X~ <br />~Victoria Avenue at Laramie Street, all of which were removed to the Discussion Second ~X= <br />~Calendar. All Ayes <br /> <br /> CITY PLA~ING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> CASE VAC-6-812 - VARIOUS UNIMPROVED ALLEYS AND SEGMENTS OF STREETS A}~ ALLEYS - JASMINE <br /> STREET, FREMONT STREET, INDUSTRIAL AVENUE AND COLUMBUS AVENUE <br /> A co~unication was presented from the City PlanninE Commission advising that, on <br /> March 4, 1982, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to <br /> conditions the proposal of the City of Riverside, Case VAC-6-812, to vacate various <br /> unim~r0ved alleys and seSments of streets and alleys, some of which encroach into <br /> railroad right-of-way, located within a manufacturing area between the blocks bounded <br /> by Jasmine Street on the west, Fremont Street on the east, Industrial Avenue on the <br /> north, and Columbus Avenue on the south. The Public Works Department was requested to <br /> furnish the necessary legal description required in connection with the proposed <br /> vacation, and the City Attorney was authorized to prepare the appropriate resolution <br /> for City Council consideration to set the matter for public hearing. <br /> <br /> ZONI~ CASE MP-1-601 (REVISED) - BOURNS INCORPORATED - 1200 COLUMBIA AVE}~E <br />A communication was presented from the City Plannin8 Commission advising that, on <br />~February 18, 1982, the Co~unission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to <br />~conditions the proposal of Bourns Incorporated, Zoning Case MP-1-601 (Revised), to <br />~revise an MP plot plan to legalize an existing 1,100-square-foot commercial coach and <br />~a 3,500-square-foot covered storage area, and to construct an additional 760-square- <br />~foot covered storage building at an existing industrial facility located at <br />~1200 Columbia Avenue, situated on the southeast corner of Columbia and Iowa Avenues, <br />.in Zone MP; and determined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse <br />, v~ronmental effect.
