<br /> The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Bob Stewart representing the
<br /> Riverside Chamber of Commerce and Phil Osborn representing the La Sierra Chamber of
<br /> Commerce.

<br /> CONSENT CALENDAR
<br /> The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br /> those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for
<br /> consideration with the exception of Zoning Case C-6-823, proposed contract for the Motion ]X~
<br /> Utilities Public Information Program, the Riverside Centennial Celebration, and sign Second [X~
<br /> code restudy, all of which were removed to the Discussion Calendar. All Ayes

<br /> ~BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT

<br /> }ZONING CASE V-61-823 - J. STRICKLAND, ET AL. - 1844 THIRD STREET
<br /> ~A communication was presented from the Board of Zoning Adjustment advising that, on

<br /> ,tions the request of J. Strickland, et el., Zoning Case V-61-823, for variances to
<br /> ]allow (a) a driveway width of 23 feet where 28 feet is required; and (b) a rear yard
<br /> ~encroachment of approximately 5 feet into the required 15-foot rear yard for a proposed
<br /> ,addxtional apartment unit project on property situated on the southwesterly corner of
<br /> ,Thxrd Street and Anderson Avenue, located at 1844 Third Street, in Zone R-3; and
<br /> ~determxned that the proposal would not have a significant adverse environmental effect.
<br /> ~The Planning Department recommended approval of the existing substandard width driveway
<br /> land denial of the other requested variance. It was determined that the City Council
<br /> ~would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br /> [ZONING CASE V-63-823 - THRIFT LAND COMPANY - 3732-36 TIBBETTS AND 3727-31 ARLINGTON
<br /> ,A communication was presented from the Board of Zoning Adjustment advising that, on
<br /> November 1, 1982, the Board, by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br /> tions the request of Thrift Land Company, Zoning Case V-63-823, for a variance to
<br /> legalize an approximately 15-square-foot existing second directory wall sign where
<br /> only one 15-square-foot wall directory is allowed on property situated at
<br /> 3732-36 Tibbetts Street and 3727-31 Arlington Avenue, a through lot, located between
<br /> Magnolia and Brockton Avenues, in Zone RO. It was determined that the City Council
<br /> would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT
<br />
<br /> TIME EXTENSION ON CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL - ZONING CASE R-37-790
<br /> A communication was presented from James F. Davidson, Jr., J. F. Davidson Associates,
<br /> ~requesting a one-year extension of time from December 18, 1982, in which to complete
<br /> ]the conditions of approval under the Zone CL portion of Zoning Case R-37-790, relating
<br /> ~to property situated on the southeasterly side of Pierce Street southwesterly of
<br /> ]Golden Avenue, located in the 11400 and 11500 blocks of Pierce Street. Petition for a
<br /> ]zone change was granted on December 18, 1979; the Zone MP portion of this zoning case
<br /> ,was finalized on November 10, 1981; and this is the second request for a time exten-
<br /> ]sion. The time extension was granted to December 18, 1983, for this portion of the
<br /> izoning case, as requested.

<br /> iADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT

<br /> COMPLETION - EXPANDING EXTERIOR PARTITIONS ON THIRD FLOOR OF CITY HALL
<br /> ~In consideration of the recommendation from the Administrative Services Department
<br /> ~the work of expanding the exterior partitions on the Third Floor of City Hall, by
<br /> ,Goodwin Askew Construction, Inc., was accepted as completed; and execution of the
<br /> 'Notice of Completion was authorized and directed.
