This project is an important step in that it
will facilitate the conversion of circuit 454 to 12kV by creating extra ties to an existing 12kV circuit in the
vicinity.
The work will upgrade electric distribution facilities along Palm Avenue, south of Tequesquite Avenue.
The overhead work includes the replacement of one wooden pole, 240 circuit feet of primary wires, and
related overhead distribution facilities. The underground work includes the replacement of 1,870 circuit
feet of primary underground cables, installation of two vaults, two electric service boxes, one transformer
pad, one transformer, 100 trench feet of conduit, and related underground distribution facilities.
Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) engineering staff performed the design to eliminate any negative visual
impacts to the project and surrounding area, with sensitivity to the existing neighborhood, and within City
Planning guidelines for the designated area of the project.
The project breakdown is proposed as follows:
Project Breakdown
Engineering Performed By:
RPU engineering staff
Civil Construction Performed By:
RPU Contractor's Panel
Electrical Work Performed By:
RPU field forces
Anticipated Start Date:
July 11, 2016
Anticipated Duration:
4 weeks
Coordination Required With:
RPU Field Superintendent
Reimbursements:
None
