Motion ~X, <br /> Second ~X~ <br /> All Ayes <br /> <br /> The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Russ O'Buch representing the <br /> Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Vic Reese representing the Arlington Chamber of Com- <br /> merce, Sue Mitchell representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of Commerce and Ray <br /> Miller representing the Riverside Downtown Association. <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION <br /> 'Ma or <br /> , y Brown presented a Proclamation to Nick Goldware and Roy Taylor of Goldware and <br /> ~Taylor Insurance on the completion of their beautification project in expanding their <br /> ~facility and preserving its historical heritage. <br /> <br /> ~CONSENT CALEndAR <br /> |The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to <br /> ~those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for , Motion ~X[ <br /> iconsideration, with the exception of the report relative to Jarvis Initiative IV which Second ,X <br /> ,was removed to the Discussion Calendar. !All Ayes <br /> ~CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> ~ZONING CASE C-17-678 - SAINT THOMAS CATHOLIC CHURCH - 3774 JACKSON STREET <br /> ~A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br /> ~July 5, 1984, the Commission, by a vote of 6 ayes to 2 noes, approved subject to <br /> ~conditions the request of Saint Thomas Catholic Church, Zoning Case C-17-678, for a <br /> ~conditional use permit to expand an existing church and private school by adding <br /> ~approximately .8 acre of vacant land to be used as a parking lot and to add two new <br /> ~buildings, one a two-story library and faculty area and the other a multi-purpose <br /> cafeter~ located at 3774 Jackson Street, situated on the southwesterly side of <br /> 'Jack Street and the southeasterly side of Magnolia Avenue, in Zones C-2, R-1-65 <br /> ~ son <br /> ~and O; and determined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse environ- <br /> ~mental effect. It was determined that the City Council would not set the nmtter for <br /> ~publ~c hearing. <br /> ~BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT <br /> <br /> ZONING CASE V-i0-845 - H. CHO, ET AL. - 4640-4652 PINE STREET <br /> A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning <br /> Adjustment advising that, on July 16, 1984, the Board, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, <br /> approved subject to conditions the request of H. Cho, et al., Zoning Case V-10-845, <br /> for the following variance to revise an existing sign within a shopping center at <br /> 4640-4652 Pine Street, situated on the southeasterly side of Pine Street southerly of <br /> the intersection of Pine Street and Tequesquite Avenue, in Zone C-2: to change the <br /> business identifications on an existing wall sign background approximately 750 square <br /> !feet in area, where the aggregate individual wall signs may not exceed 150 square <br /> feet in area. The signing of individual businesses in the center consists of opaque <br /> letters mounted on a lighted continuous background (parapet). Therefore, by defini- <br /> tion the entire lighted background is part of the sign area. It was determined that <br /> ;the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing. <br /> <br /> ~ZONING CASE V-13-845 - J. A. CARDEY, ET AL. - 4100 BLOCK MELROSE <br /> ~A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning <br /> ~Adjustment advising that, on July 16, 1984, the Board, by a vote of 7 ayes to 1 no, <br /> ~approved subject to conditions the request of J. A. Cardey, et al., Zoning Case <br /> [V-13-845, for the following variances to construct 12 apartments on approximately <br /> ~.4 acre of vacant land in the 4100 block of Melrose Street, situated on the <br /> <br />70-45 <br /> <br /> <br />
