CITY OF RIVERSIDE Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council ~ ,~~~'~' Date of Meeting: June 7, 1984 Place of Meeting: Library Auditorium, 3581 Seventh Street WARDS Roll Call: Present BUDGET DISCUSSION Mayor Brow~ called the meeting to order, and announced that discussion would commence on ~he Proposed Budget for the City of Riverside for the Fiscal Year 1984-85, as prepared and submitted by the City Manager. The City Manager and the Finance Director briefly outlined the proposed method of budget review, and discussed the general financial position of the City, at present and as anticipated during the coming fiscal year. Mayor Brown excused himself at th~s time, and Mayor Pro Tempore Bowers assumed the Chair and presided. HISTORIC RESOURCES DEPARTMENT The Historic Resources Director presented the proposed budget of the Historic Resources Department, and discussed the anticipated expansion of activities a~d responsibilities of the newly-reorganized Department. Chairman Tobey of the Museum Board was present an~ spoke in support of the supplemental budget requests. Following discussion, the City Motion X~ Council tentatively approved the Historic Resources Department budget, as presented on Second ~X~ pages 403 through 414 of the Program Budget. All Ayes Mayor Brown returned at this time, assumed the Chair, and presided. FIRE DEPARTMENT The Fire Department proposed budget was presented by the Fire Chief. Following Motion discussion, tentative approval was given the Fire Department budget as presented on Second 'X' ~pages 233 through 261 of the Budget. All Ayes Councilmen Digati was excused during the following presentation. ~A~ Ma or B y roan excused h~mself during the following discussion, and Mayor Pro Tempore iBowers assumed the Chair and presided. ~PLAI~ING DEPARTMENT ~The Planning Director presented the proposed budget for the Planning Department, and Motion X~ ~answered questions from the City Council. Following discussion, tentative approval was Second [X~ given the Planning Department budget as shown on pages 105 through 133 of the Budget. All Ayes BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS The Budget Officer presented a written list of budget adjustments, dated June 7, 1984, which he stated should be incorporated in the Budget as presented. Following a brief Motion ,X, discussion, the City Council gave tentative approval to the seven listed budget Second ,X, adjustments. All Ayes ADJOURNMENT At 4:15 p.m., Mayor Pro Tempore Bowers declared the City Council adjourned to an Adjourned Regular Meeting, Friday, June 8, 1984, at 2:30 p.m., in the Library Auditorium.
