CiTY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> <br /> COUNCI LME N <br /> <br /> Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council <br /> Date of Meeting: May 29, 1984 , <br /> '~',o',~, ', ~ ,~', <br /> Time of Meeting: 8:00 A.M. <br /> Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall WARDS <br /> <br />eRoll Call: Present ~X~ ~X~X X A X: <br /> <br />'The Invocation was given by Councilman Renck. <br /> <br />'The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />~Mayor Brown turned the meeting over to Councilman Bowers, Chairman of the Redevelopment <br />~Agen y, who conducted miscellaneous Agency business. <br /> C <br /> <br />,Councilman Shepard and Digati entered at this time. :X ' <br />~PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AT 8:00 A.M. <br /> <br />~JOINT PUBLIC HEARING WITH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY - PROPOSED SALE OF THE MISSION INN BY <br />~THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />~8:00 A.M.--Joint hearing of the City Council and the Redevelopmerit Agency was called <br />,on the proposed sale by the Redevelopment Agency of the Mission Inn, located in the <br />,Ri Mall and White Park Redevelopmerit Project containing approximately 108,900 <br />'verside , <br />~square feet and occupying the city block bounded by Seventh Street on the south, <br />~Orange Street on the east, Sixth Street on the north, and Main Street on the west, <br />~pursuant to the Community Redevelopmerit Law of the State of California. A written <br />report was submitted from the Executive Director of the Redevelopmerit Agency recommend- <br />ing that the City Council (1) adopt the appropriate resolution approving the sale of <br />the Mission Inn to one of the developers listed in the report; and (2) ratify the <br />Redevelopment Agency action taken on May 15, 1984, in determining that the project <br />will not have a significant effect on the environment. Representatives of the develop- <br />'merit teams of Allan A. Brent, the Klemp Company, and Maan Inn Development Corporation. <br />discussed their previously-submitted .written proposals for purchasing and <br />:rehabilitating the Mission Inn, and answered questions from the City Council. <br /> <br /> RECESS FOR LUNCH <br />~At 12:20 p.m., the City Council recessed for lunch, having determined that the above <br />~hearing would be continued following the public hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. <br />iAt 1:30 p.m., the City Council reconvened with all Members present except Councilman <br />'Peterson <br /> <br />'o i <br />,C unc ].man Renck announced he would leave the Council Chamber for the following hearing <br />'b ca of a <br />, e use possible conflict of interest. ,A, <br /> <br />,FURTHER HEARING - JOINT PUBLIC HEARING WITH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY - SALE OF PROPERTY <br />~LOCATED IN THE AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT - RESOLUTION <br />1:30 P.M.--Further joint hearing of the City Council and the Redevelopmerit Agency was <br />icalled on the proposed sale by the Redevelopmerit Agency of property located in ~he <br />iAlrport Industrial Redevelopmemt Project, described as approximately six acres of land <br />ilocated at the southeast corner of Jurupa Avenue and Acorn Street, to Riverside County <br />~Publishing Company, pursuant to the Community Redevelopment Law of the State of Cali- <br />fornia. The hearing had been continued from May 1, 1984, to permit publication of the <br />appropriate notice covering the entire property of approximately 17.81 acres proposed <br />to be sold. A written report was submitted from the Executive Director of the Rede- <br />velopment Agency advising that the Agency is proposing to sell approximately 17.81 <br />acres of vacant land located at the southeast corner of Jurupa Avenue and Acorn Street <br />to Riverside County Publishing Company at a sales price of $1,163,705; and recom- <br />mending that the City Council (1) adopt the appropriate resolution approving the sale <br />!of said property to Riverside County Publishing Company and finding that the sales <br />~price being a lesser consideration than fair market value determined at the highest use <br />~permitted under the Redevelopmerit Plan is necessary to effectuate the purpose of the <br />~Redevelopment Plan; and (2) ratify the Redevelopment Agency action taken on March 20, ,. <br />~1984, in determining that the project would not have a significant effect on the <br />,env~r nt. No one was present wishing to speak on the matter. No written protests <br />,were presented. Following a brief discussion, the hearing was officially closed. The <br />!C y Council approved the recommendations as presented, ratifying the Redevelopmerit <br />:Agency action in determining that the project would not have a significant effect on <br />!the environment; and Resolution No. 15384 of the City Council of the City of Riverside, <br /> <br />69-503 <br /> <br /> <br />
