CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />Minutes of: <br />Date of Meeting: <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />August 10, 1999 <br />9 a.m. <br />Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Clifford. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of July 27, 1999, were approved as presented. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Mayor Loveridge and Councilmember Pearson presented a Certificate of <br />Appreciation and City pin to Sommer Seholl, winner of the 11-12 Division of the <br />Junior World Golf Championships. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Certificate of Appreciation and City pins to <br />Commissioner Jim Clark and Executive Board members of the American Youth <br />Soccer Organization, Region 47, in recognition of their exceptional work with the <br />youth of Riverside. <br /> <br />Councilmember Moore and Library Director Judith Auth presented the Eastside <br />Cybrary Connection/Barbara Boxer Excellence in Education Award to Michael <br />Reagan, Chairman of the Library Board of Trustees, and Carolyn Denny, Sheri <br />Irvin, and Eddy Cadenza, members of the Cybrary staff. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to <br />each item; with Councilmember Pearson disqualifying herself due to a conflict of <br />interest on the item relative to the Inland Empire Small Business Development <br />Center. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-001-990 - 5295 ARLINGTON <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving <br />subject to conditions the proposal of Roy W.
