T'VVVVVT'T Roll Call: In the absence of Mayor Brown, Mayor Pro Tempore Renck called the meeting to order, and the City Council recessed to the Conference Room adjoining the Council Chamber to conduct interviews of candidates for the City Board of Public Utilities and Per- sonnel Board. BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES Jay W. Evans, John W. Canty, Roger A. Luebs, Lester G. Heustis and Frances J. Nelson were interviewed for appointment to the Board of Public Utilities. Councilman Shepard entered at this time. The City Council interviewed Glen E. Stephens, S. Yuan Chu, Frank S. Mort, James D. Roorda and Mason Gaffhey for appointment to the Board. Following completion of the interviews, the City Council discussed the manner of filling the three available po- sitions on the Board, and it was the decision to vote on =he candidates interviewed this date. Glen E. Stephens was appointed to a four-year term ending October 1, 1989. Jay W. Evans was appointed to the remainder of a term ending October 1, 1988. Mason Gaffhey was appointed to the remainder of a term ending October 1, 1987. RECESS At 12:10 p.m., the City Council recessed for lunch, and reconvened at 1 p.m. in the Conference Room with all Members present except Councilwoman Mansfield and Council- man Digati, and with Mayor Pro Tempore Renck presiding in the absence of Mayor Brown. PERSONNEL BOARD Richard A. Bagwell and Rey E. Hernandez were interviewed for appointment to the Per- sonnel Board. Councilman Digati entered during the above interview. Thomas K. Mixson, Norsen B. Brown and Edmund L. Hastings were interviewed for ap- pointment to the Board. ENERGY COMMISSION The City Council appointed S. Yuan Chu as Alternate to the Energy Commission for a one-year period ending October 1, 1986. PERSONNEL BOARD The City Council appointed Rey E. Hernandez to the Personnel Board for the remainder of a term ending October 1, 1986. :Further, Edmund L. Hastings was selected as First Alternate and Thomas R.
