Penn, Arlington Avenue Church of <br />the Nazarene. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />I.iayor Brown announced that Councilman Loveridge and Shepard are on vacation; and <br />that Councilwoman Mansfield's mother passed away yesterday. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of August 6 and 13, 1985, were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />Police Chief Sonny Richardson introduced recently-promoted Captain Chuck Hall to <br />the Mayor and City Council. <br /> <br />Arnold Dickson, representin~ the Greater Eiverside Chambers of Commerce Military <br />Affairs Committee, introduced and Mayor Brown presented a Proclamation to the March <br />Air Force Base Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the Quarter April-june, 1985, <br />Tech. Sgt. Ellen M. Stayeta. <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Marjorie Seymour representing <br />the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, John Gutbrae representing the Arlington Chamber <br />of Commerce and Chuck Rearing representing the Mngnolia Center Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />'CONSENT CALENDAR <br />:The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate <br />ito those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council <br />:for consideration, with the exception of Zoning Case PED-2-856 which was removed to <br />l the Discussion Calendar; and with the reports relating to rate increase and utility <br />~ stuffer for solid waste contractors, La Sierra Park scorebooth repair, fund trans- <br />~fer for Arizona Street flood control channel, and fund transfer for the Arlington <br /> Avenue at 91 Freeway Account, all of which were continued to Angust 27, 1985. <br /> <br />iCIlY PLANNING COmmISSION <br /> <br /> CASE GP-4-856 - HOUSING AUTHORITY OF COUNTY OF EIVEESIDE - 5555 ARLINGTON <br /> A communication was presented f tom the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br /> August 8, 1985, the Commission considered the request of the Housing Authority of <br /> the County of Riverside, Case GP-4-856, for a determination that the proposed pur- <br /> chase of property located at 5555 Arlington Avenue, approximately 208 feet easterly <br /> of Phoenix Avenue, for use as the new main office for Housing Authority operations <br /> is in conformante with the City's General Plan; and, by a vote of 5 ayes to 0 noes, <br /> determined that the proposed purchase and relocation of the County Housing Autho- <br />rity main office to 5555 Arlington Avenue is consistent with the City's General <br />Plan which designates this property for office uses. The Commission's determina- <br />tion was upheld by the City Council, and staff was authorized co forward the City's <br />]findings and recommendations to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors for i;s <br />,consideration. <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />:ZONING CASE MP-4-845 (REVISED) - PARK ATLANTA NORTH ASSOCIATES - 1575 <br />~1737-77 ATLANTA A}~ 1550 MARLBOROUGH <br />{A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br />.July 18, 1985, the Commission, by a vote of 5 ayes to 0 noes and 1 abstention, ap- <br />,proved subject to conditions the industrial plot plan of Park Atlanta North Associ- <br />{ares, Zoning Case MP-4-845 (Revised), consisting of four industrial buildings (ap- <br />{proximately 171,500 square feet) and incidental parking at 1575 Omaha Court, <br />{1737-77 Atlanta Street and 1550 Marlborough Avenue on approximately 11.28 vacant <br />{acres of land, situated on the north side of Omaha Court, the west side of Atlanta <br />'Street and the south side of Marlborongh Avenue, in Zone MP; and determined :hat <br />{the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment.
