Cheryl Tavaglione-made a motion 1 st to approve and Bud Fish2 nd all others voted in favor. Krista Dixon –shared that there will be five speakersfor the Senior Day event: Alzheimer’s, Elder Attorney, Meridian Gardens, County Office on Aging, Hospice VNA (care pathways training). Approximately 20 vendors will participate at this event and they are being asked to donate a $25.00 raffle. Setup is scheduled for 10:00 am and breakdown at 2:00 pm. Shari Fleischman -Shared that she had received the bill from “Goodwin’s Organic” for a total of $825.00 for 150 guests. This will be lunch for the Senior Dayevent and it will consist of a ½ Sandwich, salad, cookie and water. Sandy Tarmo–asked for a motion to approve this bill from Goodwin’s Organic for the Senior Day lunch. Vicki Broach -made a motion 1to approve and Krista Dixon2all others voted in favor. stnd Cheryl Tavaglione–shared that our next commission on aging meeting is scheduled on August 9at Victoria Springs Senior Apartments. th Sandy Tarmo–the committee to review the senior award nominations will be meeting at City Hall on July 20at 4:30 pm. th Shari Fleishman–discussed the purpose of the Boat Float Event –this is confirmed for November from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. Fairmont Boathouse with vendors, music, etc. Residents who are ill and those who have passed away will be recognized, as well as acknowledging family members. 200 floatable boats will be launched into the water. Two groups will be assisting in making the boats this year (Purple city taskforce and Meridian senior living). Riv. Art Museum donating paper goods to make boats. Mike Dodge with Meridian Senior Living offered to help. Sandy Tarmo–asked if the commission had any further business discussionsrelated to Senior Day.
