Julie Brown -discussed October 13 th as theday for the Health and Fitness event (Bud, Cheryl <br />and Krista to help). Schedule of events could include: Senior Olympics, Softball, Health/Fitness. <br />Shari Fleischman -met with Jim Lawson (Oakmont Senior Living) she attended a meeting <br />related to this proposed development and things didn’t go well -strong opposition from the <br />residents: traffic concerns, two story building, etc. <br />Bob Reeves–the commission should not be supporting these projects. <br />Shari Fleischman-Senior Day would be a symposium format, with a panel of 6-8 discussing <br />Alzheimer’s. <br />Sandy Tarmo –shared that Senior Day would take place at La Sierra Senior Center, because it <br />could accommodate the softball games. At this year’s event the Mayor and Councilmembers <br />would each present a certificate to a senior. <br />Shari Fleishman–discussed the purpose of the Boat Float Event: recognizing residents who are <br />ill, those who have passed away and acknowledging family members. 200 floatable boats <br />launched into the water. This year’s event is taking place on Nov 6 th from 3:30 to 5:30 or so. <br />(Marge Miller and Krista Dixon)will be helping this year. <br />Sandy Tarmo–asked for new business or items for future considerations <br />Bob Reeves-additional public service announcements could be offered by way of Riverside <br />Public Utilities. <br />Krista Dixon–there is a big need for additional housing (apartments, etc.) for our seniors. <br />SandyTarmo-Meeting Adjourned @ 5:30pm <br />
