Mayor’s Commission on AgingMeeting <br />Tuesday, November 10, 2015 <br />4:00 PM <br />Janet Goeske Senior Center <br />Minutes: <br />Call to Order: 4:01pm <br />Pledge of Allegiance: <br /> Commissioners in attendance:Marilyn Martin, Julie Brown-Tartaglino, Grosvenor (Bud) <br />Fish, Irene Weir, Madeline Pruett, Bob Reeves, Shari Fleischman, Sandy Tarmo, Cyndi Pardee <br />and Cheryl Tavaglione <br /> Guests in attendance:Grace Abboud,Bill Abboud, Krista Dixon, Nancy Castillo, Daniel <br />Brown, Yazmin Perez, Jose Mendez, Ron Profeta, James Lawson, Anthony Zamora, Wayne <br />Santand Lovelyn Razzouk <br />Introductions: <br />Richard Gardner -thanked commissioners, Mayor’s office for their efforts regarding the <br />Dementia event <br />Bill Abboud -talked about his radio showon Sunday’s in the AM <br />Krista Dixon –shared her concern for the lack of senior housing in the City of Riverside <br />Lovelyn Razzouk–Inviting all to the upcoming Candlelight event at La Sierra University on <br />th <br />December 4 <br />James Lawson/Wayne Sant-Oakmont Senior Living -Presentation: Proposing a senior <br />living/assisted care/memory care 85 unit facility/60 employees/100 residents. Completion <br />anticipated by 2017. <br />Sandy Tarmo–introduced Janice Bielman (Meals on Wheels -Director) Janice discussed the <br />needs of the organization, more fundingis needed. They survive on donations alone. The <br />proposed talent show in the spring(MCOA partnership) would go a long way to raise funds <br />st <br />their organization. Sandy Tarmo –suggested that this event could take place the 1weekend in <br />May at the Fox Theatre/Conv. Center. Ticket prices $50.0 per person? <br />Bob Reeves–thanked Janice for her presentation –a decision hasn’t been made as to who the <br />MCOA would partner with for a spring fundraiser event. <br />Shari Fleischman-thankedIrene/Marilyn for helping at the Purple Boat Float event. Also, they <br />recently gathered to discuss the proposed Senior Day symposium for next year. Further <br />discussion will take place in January.
