E. Rucker-Hughes repre- <br />senting the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Mansfield introduced Dolores Luhrs, President, and other repre- <br />sentatives of the International Relations Council, who gave a report on the activi- <br />ties of the International Relations Council program during the past year. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to <br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for <br />consideration; with the exception of Zoning Case V-I03-856 (Revised) which was set <br />for public hearing and the report regarding a new class of Executive Assistant for <br />the Mayor's Office which was removed to the Discussion Calendar, and with Councilman <br />Peterson requesting his votes be shown as "Not Voting" on Zoning Cases V-23-856 (Re- <br />vised) and V-I03-856 (Revised) because it is reasonably foreseeable that the deci- <br />sion will have a material financial effect on a source of income. <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />,X, <br />X' <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT <br /> <br />ZONING CASE V-174-845 (REVISED) - P. LARA - 4996 LA SIERRA - DENIED IN PART <br />A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning <br />Adjustment advising that, on March 17, 1986, the Board considered the request of <br />P. Lara, Zoning Case V-174-845 (Revised), for the following revised variances to le- <br />galize an addition to and the conversion of an accessory building into a second <br />dwelling unit at 4996 La Sierra Avenue, situated at the south corner of La Sierra <br />and Mountain Avenues, in Zone C-3: (A) to encroach up to 8.5 feet into the required <br />10-foot street side yard setback; (B) to encroach up to 15 feet into the required <br />IS-foot rear yard setback; (C) to permit a building separation of 3.5 feet where ap- <br />proximately 10 feet is required; (D) to permit no off-street parking where two cov- <br />ered parking spaces are required; (E) to permit no private usable open space; and <br />(F) to permit a substandard amount of common usable open space; and, by a vote of <br />5 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions Variances (A), (B), (C). (E) and <br />(F); and denied Variance (D). The City Council upheld the Board's recommendation; <br />. and determined that the matter would not be set for public hearing. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE V-23-856 (REVISED) - RIVERSIDE MEDICAL CLINIC - 3660 ARLINGTON <br />A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning <br />Adjustment advising that, on March 17, 1986, the Board, by a vote of 5 ayes to <br />o noes, approved subject to conditions the request of Riverside Medical Clinic, Zon- <br />ing Case V-23-856 (Revised), for the following revised variances to erect a sculp- <br />ture of its logo at 3660 Arlington Avenue, situated on the south side of Arlington <br />Avenue and the northeast side of Brockton Avenue, in Zone RO: (A) to allow an 8- <br />foot_ide, l2-foot-high three-dimensional sculpture where no such sign is permit- <br />ted. This sculpture is considered a sign by the Sign Code since it resembles the <br /> <br />71-521 <br />
