Special Presentation – Brenda Diederichs, Human Resources Director <br /> Human Resources Director Brenda Diederichs presented the Board with a PowerPoint presentation <br />overview of the Due Process and a handout that defined appeals and grievances. <br /> Ms. Diederichs informed the Board that the current discipline process has been revised to remove the <br />Assistant City Manager and/or City Manager from reviewing the written notice in the beginning stage of <br />the discipline process. <br /> Director Diederichs informed the Board of the grievance process for non-represented units. Ms. <br />Diederichs stated that if the grievance cannot be resolved at the department level, it is the employee’s <br />decision to request a hearing before the Human Resources Board. <br /> Human Resources Director Brenda Diederichs indicated that training for the Human Resources Board <br />related to hearings will be scheduled in the near future. <br /> Public Comment Period: <br /> Jason Hunter spoke regarding Riverside Municipal Code 2.36.090. Mr. Hunter stated that the City <br />Manager who imposes discipline by Charter cannot rule on appeals for non-represented employees. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />
