CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL Minutes of: Date of Meeting: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council July 27, 1999 9 a.m. Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge called the City Council meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. following the Redevelopment Agency meeting. The Invocation was given by Councilmember Defenbaugh. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. The Mayor and City Council observed a minute of silence in memory of the passing of Public Utilities Assistant Director, Electric Division, Michael Baldwin. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting of July 13, 1999, were approved as presented; with a correction to Page 85-12, Case VR-124-989 - 5545 Willard, to indicate that the request was to legalize the existence of a room constructed as a living space. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge called on Park and Recreation Director Terry Nielsen who recognized the Kids Tree Time Singers' commitment to keeping Riverside beautiful and their appreciation for Riverside's tree heritage. The Kids Tree Time Singers performed a song written especially for the City. Mayor Loveridge called on Public Utilities Director Bill Camahan who introduced the Riverside Public Utilities' "Off-Peak Cooling/Thermal Energy Storage System Incentive Program." Mayor Loveridge presented the final TES rebate checks to Bud Fish, County of Riverside, in the amount of $84,000, and Jerry De Silva, Building Services Superintendent, City of Riverside, in the amount of $40,000. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item, with the exception of the item relative to Zoning Case DA-001-845 which was removed from the agenda. CITY MANAGER BID 5654 - DUAL BAND HAND-HELD RADIOS AND ACCESSORIES - FIRE DEPARTMENT The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5654 to Com Ser Co., Inc., in the amount of $29,160.38 (Account 351000-462200) for dual band hand-held radios and accessories for the Fire Department; and (2) authorized the Purchasing Services Manager to issue a purchase order for this requirement as being in the best interest of the City.
