<br />The Minutes of the Meetings of March 24, 1987, were approved as submitted.
<br />
<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of A1 Allen representing the Riverside
<br />Chamber of Commerce, John Guthrie representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Bill
<br />Onink representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Bob Parks representing the Magno-
<br />lia Center Chamber of Commerce, Woodie Rucker-Hu~hes representing the Hunter Park-
<br />Northside Chamber of Commerce and Alan Koch representing the University-Canyon Crest
<br />Chamber of Commerce.

<br />PRESENTATIONS
<br />
<br />Mayor Pro Tempore Digati presented a Proclamation relative to "Cancer Awareness Week",
<br />April 6-12, 1987.
<br />
<br />Fayor Pro Te~ore Digati presented a Proclamation to Dave McNiel, Chairman, Community
<br />Development Advisory Cc.maittee, proclaiming April 11-18, 1987, as "Community Development
<br />Week" in the City of Riverside.
<br />
<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-
<br />sideration; with the exception of Zoning Case V-3-856 (Revised), the report on advertis-
<br />ing on bus shelters and benches and the report on loan assistance to the Redevelopant
<br />A~ency relative to development of the Sycamore Canyon Plan, all of which were removed to
<br />the Discussion Calendar.

<br />ZONING CASE C-22-867 (REVISED) - VAN BUEEN JOINT VENTDIlE - 5665 VAN BDXEN
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Cosmission advising that, on
<br />March 5, 1987, the Comsdssion, by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tiuns the request of Van Buren Joint Venture, Zoning Case C-22-867 (Revised), for a re-
<br />vised conditions1 use permit to establish a tire sales and installation facility ou ap-i
<br />proximately .62 vacant acre of land at 5665 Van Buren Boulevard, situated on the
<br />easterly side of Van Buren Boulevard southerly of its intersection with Jackson Street,
<br />in Zone C-2; and determined that the proposal would not have a sig~/ficant adverse el-:
<br />fect on the environment. It was determined that the City Council would not set the mat-:
<br />ter for public hearing. ~.

<br />A c~mnunication was presented from the City Planning Cosmission advising that, on~
<br />March 5, 1987, the Commission, by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-I
<br />tions the request of MacTavish and MacDuff, Zoning Case C-24-867, for a conditional use{
<br />permit to establish a tire, battery and accessory store on approximately .5 acre of land.

<br />=he northeasterly side of Van Huron Boulevard southeasterly of Indiana Avenue, in Zone,
<br />M-l; and determined that the proposal would no= have a si~nificant adverse effect on thei

<br />CASE GP-25-867 - RIVERSIDE COUNTY - ADDITIONS TO JUVENILE HALL AND VAN HORN YOUTH CENTER
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on,
<br />March 19, 1987, the Commission considered the request of the County of Riverside, Case;
<br />GP-25-867, for a determination as to whether two 20-hod additions to Juvenile Hall on~
<br />the east side of Harrison Street between County Farm Road and Magnolia Avenue and one :
