<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of David Martinet representing the Riv-
<br />erside Chamber of Cow..erce, Marin Perez representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce,
<br />Dana Reedy representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce. Bob Parks representing the
<br />Magnolia Center Chamber of Co~erce, Linda Dizmon representing the Hunter Park-Northside
<br />Chamber of Commerce and Bill Martin representing the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of
<br />Commerce.

<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-
<br />sideration.

<br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION

<br />ZONING CASE C-38-867 (REVISED) - D. PRENTICE, ET AL. - 1915-1935 ATLAS
<br />A ~ommunication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />May 19, 1988, the Commission, by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of D. Prentice, et al., Zoning Case C-38-867 (Revised), for a revised
<br />conditional use permit to establish an indoor archery range within a proposed commercial
<br />building on approximately 10,000 square feet of land at 1915-1935 Atlas Drive, situated
<br />at the northerly end of Atlas Drive westerly of Rivera Street, in Zone C-2; and deter-
<br />mined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment.
<br />It was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br />ZONING CASE C-11-878 (REVISED) - FOR KIDS ONLY LTD., ET AL. - 3950 PIERCE
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Co-maission advising that, on
<br />May 19, 1988, the Commission, contrary to the Planning Department's recommendation and
<br />by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the request of For Kids
<br />Only Ltd., et al., Zoning Case C-11-878 (Revised), for a revised conditional use permit
<br />to establish a day care center for 130 to 150 students in an existing commercial center
<br />on approximately two acres of land at 3950 Pierce Street, situated on the southwesterly
<br />side of Pierce Street immediately north of the Riverside 91 Freeway, in Zones C-2-S-1-X;
<br />and determined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the envi-
<br />ronment. The Planning Department recommended denial of the request. The City Council
<br />upheld the Commission's recommendation; and determined that the matter would not be set
<br />for public hearing.

<br />CASE GP-25-878 - COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE HOUSING AUTHORITY - MAGNOLIA AND TAFT
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />May 19, 1988, the Commission considered the request of the Housing Authority of the Coun-
<br />ty of Riverside, Case GP-25-878, for a determination whether the proposed acquisition of
<br />an approximately .36-acre site located at the south corner of Magnolia Avenue and Taft
<br />Street, to be utilized as an emergency shelter, is in conformante with the City of River-
<br />side General Plan; and, by a vote of 7 ayes to 1 no, (1) determined that the proposed
<br />acquisition and use of the subject site for emergency shelter services, associated coun-
<br />seling services and retail uses is consistent with the Ctty's General Plan; and (2) for-
<br />warded this determination to the City Council for concurrence and, in turn, to the Hous-
<br />ing Authority of the County of Riverside. The City Council upheld the Commission's
<br />recommendations.

<br />ZONING CASE O-6-878 - R. MANASSERO, ET AL. - 6800 BLOCK OF VAN BUREN
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on
<br />May 19, 1988, the Commission reviewed the plot plan submitted by R. Manassero, et al.,
<br />Zoning Case 0-6-878, consisting of an agricultural produce stand on approximately
<br />.9 vacant acre of land in the 6800 block of Van Buren Boulevard, situated on the
<br />
