<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Art Gage representing the Riverside
<br />and Magnolia Center Chambers of Commerce, Gary Horn representing the Arlington Chamber
<br />of Commerce, Pete Saputo representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Derek Werner
<br />representing the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and Kevin Lewis representing
<br />the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce.

<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-
<br />sideration; with the exception of the report regarding Building Official recruitment
<br />which was removed to the Discussion Calendar.

<br />ZONING CASE C-9-589 (REVISED) - ARLINGTON MORTUARY, ET AL. - 9645 .MAGNOLIA
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on May 5,
<br />lg88, the Commission, .by a-vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the
<br />request of Arlington Mortuary, et al., Zoning Case C-9-589 (Revised), for a revised con-
<br />di=ional use permit to enlarge the existing mortuary building by constructing an approxi-
<br />mately 1,927-square-foot two-story office addition at 9645 Magnolia Avenue', situated on
<br />the northerly corner of ~gnolia Avenue and Taft Street, in Zone C-3; and determined
<br />that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. It
<br />was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br />ZONING CASE C-1-678 (REVISED) - MAGNOLIA CONVALESCENT HOSPITAL, ET AL. - 8133 MAGNOLIA
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on May 5,
<br />1988, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the
<br />request of Magnolia Convalescent Hospital, et al., Zoning Case C-1-678 (Revised), for a
<br />revised conditional use permit to expand an existing convalescent hospital from a 94-bed
<br />to a 120-bed capacity hospital by constructing an approximately ll,940-square-foot two-
<br />story addition which will include recreation and conference rooms, lounge and office
<br />area on approximately 1.5 acres of land at 8133 Magnolia Avenue, situated on the north-
<br />westerly side of Magnolia Avenue approximately 900 feet northeasterly of Adams Street,
<br />in Zone R-1-65; and determined chat the proposal would not have a significant adverse ef-
<br />fect on the environment. It was determined that the City Council would not set the mat-
<br />ter for public hearing.

<br />ZONING CASE C-36-856 (REVISED) - GRACE BETHEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH - 10250 CYPRESS
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on May 5,
<br />1988, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the
<br />request of Grace Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Zoning Case C-36-856 (Revised), for a
<br />revised conditional use permit to construct a modular (mobile coach) building for an as-
<br />sembly room and classrooms where a previously-approved plot plan indicated an education
<br />building on approximately 1.79 vacant acres of land at 10250 Cypress Avenue, situated on
<br />the southerly side of Cypress Avenue easterly of Tyler Street, in Zone RR; and deter-
<br />mined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment.
<br />It was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br />ZONING CASE C-45-878 - CITY OF RIVERSIDE - BOX SPRI~]GS SLY. OF UNIVERSITY CITY COmmUNITY
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on May 5,
<br />1988, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 1 no, approved subject to conditions the
<br />request of the City of Riverside, Zoning Case C-45-878, for a conditional use permit to
<br />establish a booster pump station and a three-million-gallon water reservoir on approxi-
<br />mately 2.5 vacant acres of land situated approximately 400 feet southwesterly of the ex-
<br />isting water reservoir, approximately one-half mile westerly of Box Springs Boulevard
<br />and one-half mile southerly of the University City community, within the planned Lusk
<br />
