<br />PRESENTATION
<br />Mayor Brown presented a Plaque of Appreciation to Councilwoman Frizzel for her dedicated
<br />service as Mayor Pro Tempore from July 1, 1988, through December 31, 1988.
<br />
<br />The City Council appointed Councilman Osborne as Mayor Pro Tempore for the period Janu-
<br />ary 1, 1989, through June 30, 1989.
<br />
<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Mary. Moreland representing the
<br />Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Captain Zoli representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of
<br />Commerce and Gary Cordrey representing the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce.
<br />
<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-
<br />sideration; with the exception of the report regarding the Casa Blanca Redevelopment
<br />Project Area Committee, which was removed to the Discussion Calender.

<br />PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

<br />TRACT MAP 22108-1 - NORTHERLY SIDE OF CYPRESS BETWEEN GOLDEN AND LA SIERRA
<br />The Faithful Performance Bonds of Emblem Development Corporation, as principal, and
<br />Pacific States Casualty Co., as surety, in the amounts of *756,650 and *323,850; togeth-
<br />er with the Labor and Material Bonds, executed by the principal and surety as listed
<br />above, in the amounts of ,378,325 and '161,925; together with their Agreements guarantee-
<br />ing the completion of streets, curbs, gutters, and all other improvements described on
<br />the Final Map of Tract 22108-1, located on the northerly side of Cypress Avenue between
<br />Golden and La Sierra Avenues, were approved and accepted.

<br />Resolution No. 16998 of the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, Accepting
<br />the Official Map of Tract 22108-1, consisting of six sheets, being a subdivision of
<br />Lot 17, and a portion of Lots 9, 10, 11, 15 and Lot "B" Levier Avenue (vacated) of Gold-
<br />en Terrace, as shown by map on file in Book 11, Pages 82 and 83 of Maps, Records of Riv-
<br />erside County, California, located in Section 3, T.3 S., R.6 W., M.B. 6/70; together
<br />with the streets and easements as shown thereon; together with any variances as to lot
<br />area, building area or yard requirements approved by the Planning Commission; and autho-
<br />rizing the City Clerk to attest said Map, was presented; and the title having been read,
<br />and further reading waived by the unanimous consent of Councilmembers present, was adopt-
<br />ed.

<br />PUBLIC UTILITIES DEPARTMENT

<br />COMPLETION - UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC FEEDER STRUCTURES IN ARLINGTON/CHICAGO AT ALESSANDRO
<br />In consideration of the recommendation from the Public Utilities Department, the work of
<br />constructing underground electric feeder structures in Arlington/Chicago Avenues at
<br />Alessandro Boulevard intersection, by Shacklett Construction Company, was accepted as
<br />completed; and execution of the Notice of Completion was authorized and directed.

<br />PURCHASING SERVICES MANAGER

<br />BID NO. 4395 - ANNUAL REQUIREMENTS FOR TIRES AND TUBES
<br />In consideration of the recommendation from the Purchasing Services Manager, the follow-
<br />ing bids were accepted for furnishing various City departments with their annual require-
<br />ments for tires and tubes for City vehicles for the period December 1, 1988, through
<br />November 30, 1989: Southwestern Bandag, Inc., in the amounts of ,107,400.86 for Part 1
<br />and ,42,269.24 for Part 3; and Rome's Tire, in the amount of ,65,424.04 for Part 2. All
<br />other bids were rejected; and the Purchasing Services Manager was authorized to proceed
<br />with the purchase by Purchase Order.
