<br />PRESENTATIONS
<br />
<br />Mayor Brown introduced Tom Mullet who presented, on behalf of Senator Robert Presley, a
<br />Senate Rules Committee resolution commending Lieutenant Gilberto Olivarria for his out-
<br />standing work in the effort to reform the State Bar's attorney discipline system, and
<br />for his deep commitment to professional law enforcement.
<br />
<br />Mayor Brown presented a Proclamation to Gerry Paulus proclaiming Thanksgiving week (No-
<br />vember 20-26, 1988) as National Family Week.
<br />
<br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience Of Don Baskerr representing the La Si-
<br />erra Chamber of Cm~erce, Bob Bourrioux representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of Com-
<br />merce, Ed Fuhrman representing the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and Dennis
<br />Morgan representing the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce.

<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to
<br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-
<br />sideration; with the exception of the reports regarding City of Riverside/Riverside Uni-
<br />fied School District office development and homeless assistance, both of which were re-
<br />moved to the Discussion Calendar.

<br />ZONING CASE C-18-889 - ANDERSON/ADKISON CORPORATION, ET AL. - ADJACENT TO 6830 AIRPORT
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Octo-
<br />ber 20, 1988, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of Anderson/Adkiaon Corporation, et al., Zoning Case C-18-889, for a
<br />conditional use permit to establish an off-site modular temporary office boildinE adja-
<br />cent to their existing office buildit~ on approximately .4 vacant acre of land adjacent
<br />tO 6830 Airport Drive, situated on the easterly side of Airport Drive approximately 700
<br />feet northerly of Arlington Avenue, in Zone AIR; and determined that the proposal would
<br />not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. It was determined that the
<br />City Council would not set the matter for public hearing.

<br />ZONING CASE C-19-889 - R. BARKLEY - 2965 CENTRAL
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Octo-
<br />ber 20, 1988, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of R. Barklay, Zoning Case C-19-889, for a conditional use permit to
<br />legalize an auxiliary dwelling unit (granny flat) on approximately 1.36 acres of land at
<br />2965 Central Avenue, developed with a single-family residence and an auxiliary dwelling
<br />unit, situated on the northerly side of Central Avenue westerly of Rumsay Drive, in Zone
<br />R-l-80; and determined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on
<br />the environment. It was determined that the City Council would not set the matter for
<br />public hearing.

<br />ZONING CASE C-20-889 - NATIONAL UNIVERSITY - 4371 LATHAM
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Octo-
<br />ber 20, 1988, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of National University, Zoning Case C-20-889, for a conditional use
<br />permit to establish a school/university for approximately 144 students, staff and in-
<br />structors within an existing commercial development by utilizing approximately 6,000
<br />square feet of the existing office building on approximately two acres of land at 4371
<br />Latham Street, situated on the easterly corner of Rivera and Latham Streets, in Zone
