Motion [X~ <br /> Second :X <br /> All Ayes <br /> <br />Councilman Clarke entered at this time. :X <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Frizzel called on Dee Bachman, Park and Recreation Director, who intro- <br />duced the pool managers in recognition of the excellent safety record that has been <br />achieved this pool season at the nine pools operated by the Park and Recreation Depart- <br />ment. <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Dick Perry representing the River- <br />side Chamber of Commerce, Jim Paliungas representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, <br />Becky Palmet representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of Commerce, Pat Ruckle represent- <br />ing the ~unCer Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and Ralph Salisbury representing the <br />University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to <br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con-. <br />sideration; with the exception of the reports concerning acoustic study of Riverside <br />Sports Complex usage, the proposed introduction of an ordinance concerning parking and <br />traffic re8ulations on various City streets, the Maximum Utility Users Tax, the Street <br />Lighting Assessment refund program, and the Community Relations Division study, all of <br />which were removed to the Discussion Calendar; and with Councilman Digati requesting his <br />vote be shown as "Not Voting" on Zoning Case C-60-590 (Revised) because it is reasonably Motion ~X <br />foreseeable that the decision will have a material financial effect on a source of in- Second ~X~ <br />come. All Ayes <br /> <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE C-60-590 (REVISED) - ARLINGTON HEALTB SERVICES (PARKVIEW HOSPITAL) - <br />8962 GARFIELD; 3960. 3970 AND 3980 SEERMAN; 9057 MAGNOLIA; AND 9056, 906~ AND 9070 MILLER <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br />July 21, 1988, the Commission, 5y a vote of 7 ayes Co 0 noes, appr0ved subject to condi- <br />tions the request of Arlington ~ealth Services (Parkv~ev ~ospital), ZoninE Case C-60-590 <br />(Revised), for a revised conditional use permit to provide additional off-street parking <br />for th~ established medical facility at 8962 Garfield Street; 3960, 3970 and 3980 Sher- <br />man Drive; 9057 Magnolia Avenue; and 9056, 9064 and 9070 Miller Street, presently devel- <br />oped with single-family residences (proposed for removal), situated on the northwesterly <br />side of Magnolia Avenue and the southerly side of Miller Street on the southeasterly cor- <br />ner of Garfield Street and Sherman Drive, in Zone R-1-657 and determined that the propos- <br />al would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. Not Votin~ :X~ <br /> <br />ZONING CASE MP-3-656 (REVISED) - TORO COMPANY - 5950 WILDERNESS <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br />July 21, 1988, the Commission, by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes and 1 abstention, approved <br />subject to conditions the request of the Toro Company, Zoning Case MP-3-656 (Revised), <br />for a revised plot plan for an industrial facility consisting of an existing manufactur- <br />ing and warehousing industrial building proposed for renovation and expansion of off- <br />street parking and landscaping at 5950 Wilderness Avenue, located on approximately <br />3.8 acres of land situated on the southeasterly corner of Ed Perkit Street and Wilder- <br />ness Avenue, in Zone MP; and determined that the proposal would not have a significant <br />adverse effect on the environment.
