T ............. ~'~':";'~'T' ' <br /> Roll Call: <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AT 9 A.M. <br /> <br /> URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACTION GRANT APPLICATION - DEVELOPMENT OF A PORTION OF THE RIVERSIDE <br /> MARKETPLACE - RESOLUTION <br /> 9 A.M.--Hearing was called to consider a proposed Urban Development Action Grant Applica- <br /> tion to be submitted to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development <br /> for approximately ~2,000,000 to '3,000,000 to assist with the proposed development of a <br /> hotel, restaurants, cultural center, offices, theater and retail complex to be developed <br /> by Birtcher/Statewide. The proposed project site is located in the City of Riverside <br /> and is bounded generally by the 91 Freeway, Third Street, Fourteenth Street and Park Ave- <br /> nue. A written report was submitted from the City Manager and the Development Director, <br /> concurred in by the Assistant City Manager-Development and the Grants Coordinator, recom- <br /> mending that the City Council approve the submittal to the Department of Housing and <br /> Urban Development of an application for ,3,600,000 in grant funds from the Urban Develop- <br /> ment Action Grant Program on behalf of the Riverside Marketplace. The Deputy Develop- <br /> ment Director briefly discussed the application, and answered questions from the City <br /> Council. No one was present wishing to speak on the matter. No written protests were <br /> presented. The public hearing was officially closed. The City Council approved submis- <br /> sion of the application for ,3,600,000; and Resolution No. 16874 of the City Council of <br /> the City of Riverside, California, Authorizing and Directing the Mayor to execute Perti- <br /> nent and Necessary Documents and Submit an Application to the United States Department <br /> of Housing and Urban Development for an Urban Development Action Grant, was presented: Motion ~X~ <br /> and the title having been read, and further reading waived by the unanimous consent of Second X', <br /> Councilmembers present, was adopted.
