The area in question is a hard-packed, circle area
off the dirt extension of Galaxie Heights Road, about 800 feet beyond the end of the newly paved
section. It is just below a cliff often used by local rock climbers (during the day time—they are not the
problem).
Our home sits at the very end of this Galaxie Heights Road extension, and looks down on this area.
Please note that our mailing address and mailbox is down on Two Trees Road, the address established
for this property when it was built in the 1960s, before there was a Galaxie Heights Road.
The activity of growing concern to us and to our neighbors along Galaxie Heights includes the following:
• Mail theft remainders
o About two dozen pieces of opened mail from boxes along Two Trees Road and
elsewhere was dumped along this area:
o We have now had two known instances of mail theft–one reported by us yesterday to
the Riverside P.D, June 11th;the second on May 30th, also reported to the police.
• Multiple graffiti events on the rocks
o The City graffiti team has responded promptly to my requests to the 311 number, three
times now, to paint over areas that they can reach on the rocks above this hard-packed,
circle area. There are still several rocks with graffiti that the team has been unable to
reach because it requires climbing the hillside.
o Vandals were observed graffiti-in rocks near the lot on June 13th and reported to the
police. Unfortunately by the time the police were able to get here, those involved had
left. A picture of the newest graffiti contributions is included with this letter.
• Increasing auto traffic and loud noise
o Often late into the night, we see multiple cars coming to this hard-packed dirt area to
park and "hang out", typically with escalating noise as the evening develops. As of this
writing, now at dusk, there are two cars below that have been there for several hours.
• Volumes of trash
o The trash left behind that quickly overwhelms our efforts to keep up with it. This litter
includes lots of beer cans, some "medical" marijuana vials, and much else.
