CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />Minutes of: <br />Date of Meeting: <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />July 13, 1999 <br />9 a.m. <br />Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />In the absence of Mayor Loveridge who is in Washington, D.C., Mayor Pro <br />Tempore Kane called the City Council meeting to order at 9 a.m. <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Moore. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of June 22, 1999, were approved as presented. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Kane presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Fire Engineer <br />Mario J. Miranda, Public Safety Officer for the month of July 1999, who was <br />honored by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce at Good Morning <br />Riverside. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Kane called on representatives from the Automobile Club of <br />Southern California and California Highway Patrol for the annual presentation of <br />the California Highway Patrol 10851 Awards. Captain Mike Smith assisted in <br />presenting the awards to eight Riverside Police Officers. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to <br />each item. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-026-590 (REVISED) - 8775 MAGNOLIA <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving, in <br />part and subject to conditions, the proposal of Agape Christian Schools for a revised <br />conditional use permit to place a 1,440-square-foot modular classroom building and <br />a two-year extension of time where a five-year extension was requested to utilize <br />two existing nonpermanent modular classroom buildings on approximately <br />five acres developed with a church and a school at 8775 Magnolia Avenue situated <br />on the northwesterly side of Magnolia Avenue, southwesterly of Monroe Street, in <br />Zone R-1-65.
