Motion ,X, <br /> ,, <br /> Second ,X~ <br /> All Ayes <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Dave Willmon representing the River- <br />side Chamber of Commerce, Ru~h Howell representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, <br />J. B. Poullard representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of Commerce, Mark Haworth repre- <br />senting the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and Gary Cordrey representing the <br />University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to <br />those items listed on the Consent Calendar and as submitted to the City Council for con- <br />sideration; with the exception of Zoning Case C-13-890 (Revised), Zoning Case MP-5-890, Motion =X~ <br />Zoning Case V-116-890 and the report relative to Mitchell Avenue closure, all of which Second =X~ <br />were removed to the Discussion Calendar. All Ayes <br /> <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />CASE VAC-10-890 - PROPOSED VACATION OF PORTION OF INDIANA <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Janu- <br />ary 18, 1990, the Commission, by a vote of 5 ayes to O noes, approved subject to condi- <br />tions the request of Active West Bowling Center, Case VAC-10-890, to vacate a 40-foot- <br />wide by approximately 128-foot-long portion of Indiana Avenue situated at the northerly <br />terminus of ValleJo Drive; and determined that the proposed vacation would not have a <br />significant adverse effect on the environment. The Public Works Department was re- <br />quested to furnish the necessary legal description, and the City Attorney was authorized <br />to prepare the appropriate resolution for City Council consideration to set the matter <br />for public hearing. <br /> <br />CASE VAC-11-890 - PROPOSED VACATION OF PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY CONNECTING WILLOW AND EUCLID <br />EASTERLY OF JEFFERSON <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Janu- <br />ary 18, 1990, the Commission, contrary to the Planning Department's recommendation and <br />by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the request of Phillip D. <br />Johnston, Case VAC-11-890, to vacate a pedestrian walkway ten feet in width and 133 feet <br />in length, decreasing to five feet in width and approximately 155 feet in length, con- <br />necting Willow Avenue and Euclid Court approximately 655 feet easterly of Jefferson <br />Street; and determined that the proposed vacation would not have a significant adverse <br />effect on the environment. The Planning Department recommended denial of the requested <br />walkway vacation. The Public Works Department was requested to furnish the necessary le- <br />gal description, and the City Attorney was authorized to prepare the appropriate resolu- <br />tion for City Council consideration to set the matter for public hearing. <br /> <br /> BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT <br /> <br /> ZONING CASE V-117-890 - STATER BROTHERS MARKET - 3001 IOWA , <br /> A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning Adjust- <br /> ment advising that, on January 22, 1990, the Board, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, ap- <br /> proved subject to conditions the request of Stater Brothers Market, Zoning Case <br /> V-117-890, for the following variance to erect a monument sign identifying one tenant <br /> within a commercial center on an approximately 13-acre site at 3001 Iowa Avenue, situ- <br /> ated on the westerly side of Iowa Avenue approximately 150 feet south of Massachusetts <br /> Avenue, in Zone C-2: to allow an approximately 24-square-foot, six-foot-high monument <br /> identification sign where no such sign is .permitted. A separate freestanding identifica- <br /> tion sign already exists on this property.
