' <br />..... ................................................. <br /> Roll Call: Present <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BUDGET ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />Mayor Frizzel introduced Jane Carney, Leon Creed, Kathleen Daley, Don Pulsifer and Jose <br />Perez, who have been selected to serve on the 1990-91 Budget Advisory Committee. With- <br />out formal motion, Mayor Frizzel was requested to select a Committee member to represent <br />Ward 7. The City Manager advised the City Council that, after all selections had been <br />made by Councilmembers and the Mayor, an organization meeting of the Committee will be <br />convened, staggered terms determined, and the information forwarded to the City Council <br />for official action. <br /> <br />Councilman Loveridge entered during the following discussion. <br /> <br />MID-YEAR BUDGET REVIEW <br />The City Manager, the Assistant City Manager, the Management and Budget Director and the <br />Finance Director presented the Mid-Year Budget Review; and discussed the information <br />presented in the written report, including estimated revenues and expenditures. Follow- <br />tn~ discussion, the City Council thanked the staff for the presentation. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />WARD 7 VACANCY - SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION CALLED - RESOLUTION <br />The City Council considered the method for filling the vacancy on the City Council. <br />Following discussion, it was the decision of the City Council to fill the seat by elec- <br />tion; and Resolution No. 17360 of the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, <br />Ordering, Calling and Providing for a Special Municipal Election to ~e Held in Said City <br />on June 5, 1990, to Fill the Vacancy in Ward 7; RequestinS the Board of Supervisors of <br />the County of Riverside to Consolidate Said Special Municipal Election With the State- <br />wide Election to be Held on the Same Date; and Requestin~ Said Board of Supervisors to <br />Permit the County Registrar of Voters to Render Certain Services Related to the Consoli- <br />dated Special Municipal Election, was presented; and the title having been read, and fur- <br />ther readins waived by the unanimous consent of Councilmembers present, was adopted. <br /> <br />PAYMENT FOR CANDIDAYES' STATEMENTS - JUNE 1990 SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />It was the decision of the City Council to continue the past policy of requiring those <br />candidates who wish to have statements printed in the sample ballots for the June 1990 <br />Special Municipal Election to pay the cost of the statements. <br /> <br />ELECTION SCHEDULING - REFERRED TO COMMITTEE' <br />The City Council requested the City Council Governmental Affairs Committee to consider <br />whether the dates of City elections should be changed, relative costs, an alternative to <br />run-off elections, and other related matters. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL STANDING COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS <br />After discussion, the following assignments were made to City Council standing commit- <br />tees: <br /> <br /> Development Committee <br /> Councilman Clarke, Chairman <br /> Councilwoman Thompson, Vice Chairman <br /> Councilman Loveridge, Member <br /> <br /> Finance Cor~ntttee <br /> Councilman Buster, Chairman <br /> Councilwoman Mansfield, Vice Chairman <br /> Councilwoman Thompson, Member <br /> <br /> Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman, Vacant <br /> Councilman Loveridge, Vice Chairman <br /> Councilman Clarke, Member <br /> <br /> Recreation and Cultural Committee <br /> Councilwoman Thompson, Chairman <br /> Councilman Buster, Vice Chairman <br /> Member, Vacant <br /> <br /> X <br /> <br />Motion ~ <br />Second X~ <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />Motion ~ <br />Second ~ <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />Motion ~ <br />Second ~ <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />75-308 <br /> <br /> <br />
