<br />ZONING CASE C-21-723 (REVISED) - HURLBUT AMUSEMENT COMPANY, INC. (CASTLE AMUSEMENT PARK),
<br />ET AL. - 3500 POLK
<br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Octo-
<br />ber 18, 1990, the Commission, by a vote of 9 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />tions the request of Hurlbut Amusement Company, Inc. (Castle Amusement Park), etal.,
<br />Zoning Case C-21-723 (Revised), for a revised conditional use permit to install a new
<br />ride within the existing amusement park at 3500 Polk Street, situated on the northwest
<br />side of Diana Avenue between Polk Street and Park Sierra Drive, and at the west corner
<br />of Park Sierra Drive and Diana Avenue, in Zone R-1-65; and determined that the proposal
<br />would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. A height variance has
<br />also been requested. The Commission's approval was upheld by the City Council.

<br />BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONINd ADJUSTMENT

<br />ZONING CASE V-61-901 - RACEWAY FORD - 3600 IOWA
<br />A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning Adjust-
<br />ment advising that, on October 15, 1990, the Board, contrary to the Planning Depart-
<br />ment's recommendation and by a vote of 6 ayes to 1 no, approved subject to conditions
<br />the request of Raceway Ford, Zoning Case V-61-901, for the following variance to install
<br />a tenant identification building sign for an existing automobile dealership at 3600 Iowa
<br />Avenue, situated at the southeasterly comer of Iowa Avenue and Linden Street, in Zone
<br />C-3: to allow an approximately 144-square-foot building sign where a maximum 100-square-
<br />foot sign is permitted. The Planning Department recommended denial of the variance.
<br />The City Council upheld the Board's recommendation.

<br />ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COMMISSION
<br />
<br />CASE EPC-27-901 - PROPOSED REALIGNMENT - INDIANA EASTERLY OF BUCHANAN
<br />A communication was presented from the Environmental Protection Cov, m~ ssion advising
<br />that, on October 10, 1990., the Commission, by a vote of 10 ayes to 0 noes, determined
<br />that, although a proposal by the City of Riverside to realign approximately 1,400 feet
<br />of Indiana Avenue from 700 feet easterly of Buchanan Street to 2,100 feet easterly of Bu-
<br />chanan Street, could have a significant effect on the environment, there will not be a
<br />significant effect in this case if certain mitigating measures are required as condi-
<br />tions of approval of the project, Case EPC-27-901. The Commission's finding was upheld
<br />by the City Council.
