Cas~.l, Bethel Christian Canter. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of July 10, 1990, ware approved as submitted. <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />;All Ayes <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Bill D~e representing the Arlington <br />Chamber of Commerce, Wendell Tucker representing the La Sierra Chamber of Comerce, <br />Rickl Mc~annis representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of C~erce, Chuck Chandler rep- <br />resenting the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce and Richard Lealre representing <br />the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of C~erce. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for considera- <br />tion, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item; vith <br />Councilmembers Buster and Thompson requesting their votes be shown as 'No' on the lease <br />agreement regarding City property at Tequesquite and Palm Avenues. <br /> <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE C-23-590 (REVISED) - RIVERSIDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - 5450 VICTORIA <br />A comzaunication was presented from the City Planning Cc~w~ssion advising that, on <br />July 5, 1990, the Commission, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to <br />conditions the request of Riverside Unified School District, Zoning Case C-23-590 <br />(Revised), for a revised conditional use permit to establish a natural gas-fired cogener- <br />atiou and waste heat recovery system to conver~ natural gas to electricity for use at <br />Riverside Polytechnic High School at 5450 Victoria Avenue, an approximately 40-acre cam- <br />pus situated at the southeast comer of Central and Victoria Avenues in Zone R-1-65; and <br />determined that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environ- <br />ment. The cogeneration unit is to be oriented toward the interior of the campus adja- <br />cent to the school r~nnasiom- The Commission's approval was upheld by the City Council. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE C-22-634 (REVISED) - RIVERSIDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - 1550 THIRD <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on <br />July 5, 1990, the Commission, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi- <br />tions the request of Riverside Unified School District, Zoning Case C-22-634 (Revised), <br />for a revised conditional use permit to establish a natural gas-fired cogeneration and <br />waste heat recovery system to convert natural gas to electricity for use at North High <br />School at 1550 Third Street, an approximately 43-acre campus situated on the east side <br />of Chicago Avenue betwaen Third and Linden Streets in Zone R-1-65; and determined that <br />the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. The cogen- <br />eration unit is to be oriented toward the middle of the campus adjacent to the swimming <br />pool complex. The Commission's approval was upheld by the City Council. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE C-43-701 (REVISED) - RIVERSIDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - 2951 JACKSON <br />A cmmunication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, o~ <br />July 5, 1990, the' Commission, by a vote of 7 eyes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi- <br />tions the request of Riverside Unified School District, Zoning Case C-43-701 (Revised), <br />for a revised conditional use permit to establish a natural gas-fired cogeneration and <br />waste heat recovery system to convert natural gas to electricity for its own use at Ar- <br />lington High School at 2951 Jackson Street, an approximately 47-acre campus situated at <br />the north comer of Jackson Street and Lincoln Avenue in Zone R-1-65; and determined <br />that the proposal would not have a significant adverse elfeat on the environment. The <br />cogeneration unit is ~o be oriented toward the interior of the campus adjacent to the <br />school gymnasium.
