WARDS <br /> Roll Call: Present <br /> Mayor Pro Tempore Buster called the meeting to order in the absence of Mayor Frizzel. <br /> <br /> BUDGET DISCUSSION <br /> The Mayor Pro Tempore announced that discussion would continue on the Preliminary Budget <br /> for the City of Riverside for Fiscal Year 1991-92, as prepared and submitted by the City <br /> Manager, and noted the presence of members of the citizen's budget advisory committee. <br /> <br /> Mayor Frizzel and Councilman Loveridge entered during the following discussion; and the <br /> Mayor assumed the Chair and presided. <br /> <br /> MISSION INN FOUNDATION <br /> Messrs. Knox Mellon and Ron Tobey and others discussed the functions and activities of <br /> the Mission Inn Foundation and their request for fundin~ from the City in the amount of <br /> *137,000; and answered questions from the City Council and the budget advisory committee. <br /> <br /> CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE <br /> Mr. Art Pick, President of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, discussed their <br /> activities and their request for funding for Special Projects in the amount of ~6,000, <br /> Economic Development activity in the amount of ~23,000 and the Beautification Contract <br /> in the amount of ~25,000; and answered questions from the City Council and the budget ad- <br /> visory committee. <br /> <br /> ECONO~{IC DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP <br /> Mr. Steve Albright, President, Economic Development Partnership (formerly Keep Riverside <br /> Ahead), discussed their activities and their request for fundin~ from the City in the <br /> amount of ~60,000; and answered questions from the City Council and the budget advisory <br /> committee. <br /> <br /> RIVERSIDE ARTS FOUNDATION <br /> Ms. Mary Lee Peters of ~he Riverside Arts Foundation discussed their Foundation activi- <br /> ties and their request for funding from the City in the amount of ,253,294; and answered <br /> questions from the City Council and the budget advisory committee. <br /> <br /> MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL, CITY CLERK, CITY MANAGER AND LEGAL DEPARTMENTS <br /> Assistant to City Manager Tremont presented brief overviews on the proposed budgets for <br /> the Mayor, City Council, City Clerk, City Manager and Legal Departments, and answered <br /> questions from the City Council and the budget advisory committee. <br /> <br /> This concluded the initial review of the Preliminary Budget for Fiscal Year 1991-92. <br /> The City Manager discussed the City of ~iverside Budget Worksheet dated May 29, 1991, <br /> which was distributed at today's meeting. The City Council discussed the scheduling of <br /> additional meetings to consider the budget and, without formal motion, requested the <br /> City Clerk to place this item on the City Council agenda for the meeting of June 4, 1991. <br /> <br /> At 5:30 p.m., the Mayor declared the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council ad- <br /> journed. <br /> <br /> cm z <br /> <br />76-453 <br /> <br /> <br />
