<br />PRESENTATION
<br />Mayor Frizzel introduced Lt. Governor Booker Huling of the Kiwanis Clubs of Riverside,
<br />who presented a check for ~3,900 to Police Chief Richardson in support of the K-9 Pro-
<br />gram.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Frizzel called on Mario Perez representing the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, who
<br /> introduced Craig Smithson representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Wendel Tucker
<br /> representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Richard Lemtre representing the
<br /> University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce and Cindy Hillman representing the Downtown
<br /> Chamber of Commerce.

<br /> CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />[The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for considera-
<br />tion, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item.

<br /> CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
<br />
<br />~ZONING CASE C-12-645 (REVISED) - LA SIERRA ACADEMY - 4900 GOLDEN
<br />]A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Decem-
<br />~ber 5, 1991, the Commission, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br />~tions the request of La Sierra Academy, Zoning Case C-12-645 (Revised), for a revised
<br />conditionaI use permit to place a temporary classroom for approximately 25 kindergarten
<br />students on approximately 16.3 acres of land developed with private elementary, Junior
<br />high and high schools at 4900 Golden Avenue, situated at the west corner of Golden Ave-
<br />nue and Pierce Street, in Zone RA; and determined that the proposal would not have a sig-
<br />nificant adverse effect on the environment. The Commission's approval was upheld by the
<br />City Council.

<br />BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT
<br />
<br />ZONING CASE V-62-912 - SAMUEL AND JACKIE RALLER - 8205 INDIANA
<br />A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning Ad-
<br />justment advising that, on November 18, 1991, the Board, contrary in part to the Plan-
<br />ning Department's recommendation and by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to
<br />conditions the request of Samuel and Jackie Hallet, Zoning Case V-62-912, for the follow-
<br />ing variances to legalize a used car sales facility at 8205 Indiana Avenue, situated on
<br />the northwest side of Indiana Avenue northeasterly of Adams Street, in Zone C-3: (A) to
<br />delete the required six-foot-high block wall adjacent to residential properties; (B) to
<br />delete the required five-foot-wide landscape planter adjacent to residential properties;
<br />and (C) to delete the four-foot-wide landscape planter required to separate the customer
<br />parking from the sales lot; and determined that the proposal would not have a signifi-
<br />cant adverse effect on the environment. The Planning Department recommended approval of
<br />variance (A) and denial of variances (B) and (C). The Board's recommendation was upheld
<br />by the City Council.

<br />ZONING CASE V-66-912 - ROBERT BARNETT - 7260 BRANDON - MINOR VARIANCE
<br />A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning Ad-
<br />Justment advising that, on November 18, 1991, the Board, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes,
<br />approved subject to conditions the request of Robert Barnett, Zoning Case V-66-912, for
<br />the following minor variance to construct an approximately 6,675-square-foot, two-story
<br />single-family residence at 7260 Brandon Court, situated on the southeast side of Brandon
<br />Court southerly of Talcey Terrace, in Zone RC: to allow a two-story single-family resi-
<br />dence with a maximum overall height of 28 feet where a maximam one-story 20-foot-high
<br />dwelling is permitted; and determined that the proposal would not have a significant ad-
<br />verse effect on the environment. The Board's recommendation was upheld by the City
<br />Council.
