1 RESOLUTION NO. 632 <br /> <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING OBJECTIVES, CRITERIA AND <br /> 3 PROCEDURES FOR ADMINISTERING ITS RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE <br /> CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 WHEREAS the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside recognizes the need to <br /> 6 preserve, protect, and enhance the physical environment of the City in order to maintain and <br /> 7 improve the quality of life for its residents; <br /> 8 WHEREAS Section 21082 of the California Public Resources Code provides that all <br /> 9 public agencies shall adopt objectives, criteria and procedures for administering its responsibilities <br /> 10 under the California Environmental Quality Act (hereinafter referred to as CEQA) including the <br /> 11 evaluation of projects and the preparation of environmental documents; <br /> 12 WHEREAS the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside is committed to <br /> 13 integrating CEQA into its decision-making process at the earliest opportunity to ensure that <br /> 14 environmental considerations are used as a valuable tool in the planning process; <br /> 15 WHEREAS it is the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside's intent to fully <br /> 16 comply with the provisions and intent of CEQA in an efficient and timely manner which eliminates <br /> 17 unnecessary cost and delay; <br /> 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of <br /> 19 Riverside as follows: <br /> 20 Section 1: Resolution Numbers 226 and 454 of the Redevelopment Agency are hereby <br /> 21 repealed. <br /> 22 Further, pursuant to Public Resources Code Sections 21082 and 21083, the State CEQA <br /> 23 Guidelines, revised as of May 1995, and any subsequent revisions, (hereinafter referred to as the <br /> 24 CEQA Guidelines) are hereby incorporated by reference for the purpose of serving as a guideline to <br /> 25 the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside (hereinafter referred to as the "Agency") for <br /> 26 administering its responsibilities under CEQA.
