<br /> PRESENTATIONS
<br />
<br /> Naty Kopenhaver, representing the Riverside County Transportation Commission, and Coun-
<br /> cilman Jack Clarke, the City's current representative to the RCTC, presented a Plaque to
<br /> Councilwoman Jean Mansfield.
<br />
<br /> Byron Working, representing the Automobile Club, presented the 1990 Pedestrian Safety
<br /> Award to Chief Sonny Richardson of the Riverside Police Department.
<br />
<br /> Robert Castillo, representing the Chairman of the 73rd American Legion Convention, which
<br /> was held in Riverside, presented a Certificate to the Mayor and City Council.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Frizzel called on Fire Chief Doug Greene to help her present a Proclamation to
<br /> Brian Robedeax for his actions during a recent fire at the San Carlos Apartments located
<br /> near the intersection of Adams Street and Magnolia Avenue.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Frizzel presented a Proclamation to Kathy Hawksworth who recently resigned from
<br /> her position of Community Services Aide for the Arlington-La Sierra area of the City.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Frizzel called on Dick Robinson representing the Riverside and Downtown Chambers
<br /> of Commerce, who Introduced Rich Biber representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce,
<br /> Ruth Christensen representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Fred Butler represent-
<br /> ing the Magnolia Center Chamber of Commerce, Greg Grub representing the Hunter Park-
<br /> Northside Chamber of Con~merce and Tina Robinson representing the University-Canyon Crest
<br /> Chamber of Commerce.

<br />
<br /> ZONING CASE C-8-912 - MC DONALD'S CORPORATION - 19000 BLOCK OF ALESSANDRO
<br /> A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Octo-
<br /> ber 17, 1991, the Commission, by a vote of 5 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br /> tions the request of McDonald's Corporation, Zoning Case C-8-912, for a conditional use
<br /> permit to establish a fast food restaurant on approximately 1.5 vacant acres of land lo-
<br /> cated within a larger acre shopping center under construction in the 19000 block of
<br /> Alessandro Boulevard, generally situated in the block bounded by Alessandro Boulevard,
<br /> Trautwein Road and Mission Grove Parkway, in Zones C-2-SP; and determined that the pro-
<br /> posal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. The Commission's
<br /> approval was upheld by the City Council.

<br /> ZONING CASE C-12-912 - WINSTON TIRE COMPANY - 5600 BLOCK OF VAN BUREN
<br /> A communication was presented from the City Planning Commission advising that, on Octo-
<br /> ber 17, 1991, the Commission, by a vote of 5 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to condi-
<br /> tions the request of Winston Tire Company, Zoning Case C-12-912, for a conditional use
<br /> permit to establish an automotive ti re and accessory sales and service facility on an ap-
<br /> proximately 0.66-acre vacant building pad located within an approximately 13.2-acre shop-
<br /> ping center in the 5600 block of Van Buren Boulevard, situated on the west side of Van
<br /> Buren Boulevard southerly of Cypress Avenue, in Zone C-2; and determined that the pro-
<br /> posal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment. The Commission's
<br /> approval was upheld by the City Council.
