The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting of May 4, 1999, were approved as presented. Mayor Loveridge announced that Councilmembers Beaty and Thompson were recovering from injuries from the October 6, 1998, incident. SPECIAL CEREMONY - CONTINUED TO LATER IN THE DAY The establishment of a Sister City relationship between the City of Riverside and the Kangnam-Gu District of Seoul, Republic of Korea, was continued to 2 p.m. PRESENTATIONS - CONTINUED The presentations of Proclamations to Evelyn Altizer, Poppy Chairman for the American Legion Auxiliary #79, proclaiming the week of May 16-22, 1999, as Poppy Week, and to Callie Jones, Riverside County Mental Health Board member, proclaiming the month of May 1999 as Mental Health Month, were continued for one week. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. PLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE EP-014-989 - 2484 JEFFERSON The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in determining that the proposal of William Gabel, representing Gabel, Cook & Becklund, for a revised grading plan for a single-family residence located at 2484 Jefferson Street, generally situated on the westerly side of Jefferson Street, southerly of Cleveland Avenue, in Zone RA-5, would not have a significant effect on the environment because Mitigation Measures have been required; concurred in the adoption of a Mitigated Negative Declaration; and found that the proposed project could have potential for adverse effects on wildlife resources and the applicant is responsible for payment of Fish and Game fees at the time the Notice of Determination is filed with the County.
