CITY OF RIVEP~ _DE Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: June 10, 1993 Time of Meeting: 2 P.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Pro Tempore Defenbaugh called the meeting to order in the absence of Mayor Frizzel, and announced that review would con- tinue on the Preliminary Budget for the City of Riverside for Fiscal Year 1993-94, as prepared and submitted by the City Man- ager. NON-DEPARTMENTAL The Assistant to City Manager-Budget presented the proposed Non-Departmental Budget beginning on Page 141 of the Prelimi- nary Annual Program Budget and on Page 99 of the Preliminary Line Item Detail Annual Program Budget, reviewed the Animal Regulation and Social and Cultural portions, and answered ques- tions from the City Council. Mayor Frizzel entered at this time, assumed the Chair and pre- sided. Discussion then commenced on the Visitor & Convention Facili- ties portion of the proposed Non-Departmental Budget. One per- son from the audience spoke regarding this matter. Councilmember Loveridge entered during the following discus- sion. The Assistant to City Manager-Budget reviewed the Promotion and Publicity portion of the proposed Non-Departmental Budget. Steve Albright of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership and Art Pick of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce were present and answered questions from the City Council and Mayor. Following a lengthy discussion and comments from interested persons in the audience, motion was made and carried to tenta- tively approve an additional $22,500 in the Fiscal Year 1993-94 Non-Departmental Promotion and Publicity Budget for the Cham- bers of Commerce for promotional materials for marketing the City of Riverside, with input on the development of any promo- tional materials by the City's Development Department and the city council, and also with the final draft products to be sub- ject to approval by the Development Department and the City Council. The Assistant to City Manager-Budget then reviewed the remain- der of the proposed Non-Departmental Budget sections, including the Riverside Arts Foundation, the Reserves and the Sundry Gen- eral Government portions. Councilmember Tavaglione was excused during the public com- ments.
