CITY OF RIVEP~ _DE <br /> <br />Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: June 10, 1993 <br />Time of Meeting: 2 P.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Defenbaugh called the meeting to order in the <br />absence of Mayor Frizzel, and announced that review would con- <br />tinue on the Preliminary Budget for the City of Riverside for <br />Fiscal Year 1993-94, as prepared and submitted by the City Man- <br />ager. <br /> <br />NON-DEPARTMENTAL <br />The Assistant to City Manager-Budget presented the proposed <br />Non-Departmental Budget beginning on Page 141 of the Prelimi- <br />nary Annual Program Budget and on Page 99 of the Preliminary <br />Line Item Detail Annual Program Budget, reviewed the Animal <br />Regulation and Social and Cultural portions, and answered ques- <br />tions from the City Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Frizzel entered at this time, assumed the Chair and pre- <br />sided. <br /> <br />Discussion then commenced on the Visitor & Convention Facili- <br />ties portion of the proposed Non-Departmental Budget. One per- <br />son from the audience spoke regarding this matter. <br /> <br />Councilmember Loveridge entered during the following discus- <br />sion. <br /> <br />The Assistant to City Manager-Budget reviewed the Promotion and <br />Publicity portion of the proposed Non-Departmental Budget. <br />Steve Albright of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership and <br />Art Pick of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce were <br />present and answered questions from the City Council and Mayor. <br />Following a lengthy discussion and comments from interested <br />persons in the audience, motion was made and carried to tenta- <br />tively approve an additional $22,500 in the Fiscal Year 1993-94 <br />Non-Departmental Promotion and Publicity Budget for the Cham- <br />bers of Commerce for promotional materials for marketing the <br />City of Riverside, with input on the development of any promo- <br />tional materials by the City's Development Department and the <br />city council, and also with the final draft products to be sub- <br />ject to approval by the Development Department and the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The Assistant to City Manager-Budget then reviewed the remain- <br />der of the proposed Non-Departmental Budget sections, including <br />the Riverside Arts Foundation, the Reserves and the Sundry Gen- <br />eral Government portions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Tavaglione was excused during the public com- <br />ments. <br /> <br />Following discussion, and after everyone wishing to speak on <br />any portion of the proposed Non-Departmental Budget had done <br />so, the City Council tentatively approved the proposed Non- <br />Departmental Budget; and staff was requested to present an <br /> <br /> WARDS <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />LCDTCTP <br />OLEALHE <br />VAFVIOA <br />EREAFNR <br />RKNGFP$ <br />IEBLOSO <br />D AIRON <br />G UODN <br />E GN <br /> HE <br /> <br />1234567 <br /> <br />AX XXXXX <br /> <br /> X <br />X <br /> <br />A <br /> <br />78-568 <br /> <br /> <br />
