CITY OF RIVERSIDE Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: June l, 1993 Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Frizzel called the meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. The Invocation was given by Councilmember Thompson. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of May 25 and 26, 1993, were ap- -proved as submitted. The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Bonnie Polis representing the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Steve Reeves representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Steve Berry representing the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Com- merce and Marjorie von Pohle representing the La Sierra Cham- ber of Commerce. PRESENTATION Mayor Frizzel presented a Proclamation to Mohammed Quader, President, Rohr-Riverside Chapter of the National Management Association, proclaiming the week of June 7-11, 1993, as Man- agement Week in the City of Riverside. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. PURCHASING SERVICES MANAGER BID NO. 4996 - SLOPE REHAB. OF RIVERSIDE CANAL AT CENTRAL In consideration of the recommendation from the Purchasing Services Manager, the Public Utilities Department and the Board of Public Utilities, the bid of Inland Asphalt & Coat- ings, in the amount of $19,610, was accepted for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment for the work of slope reha- bilitation of the Riverside Canal at Central Avenue, including grading and compaction, installing a subdrain system, land- scaping and irrigation. All other bids were rejected, and the bonds submitted with said rejected bids were released from further liability; the City Attorney was requested to prepare the necessary contract; and execution of the contract was au- thorized and directed upon approval by the City Attorney of the required performance bonds.
