CITY OF RIVEbIDE Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: May 11, 1993 Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Frizzel called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. The Invocation was given by Marjorie yon Pohle from the audi- ence. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES Approval of the Minutes of the Meeting of May 4, 1993, was continued until after the Discussion Calendar. The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Jane Car- ney representing the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Bill Dye representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Daniel Hantman representing the Downtown Chamber of Commerce, Paul Sears rep- resenting the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce, Marjorie yon Pohle representing the La Sierra Chamber of Com- merce and Steve Reeves representing the Magnolia Center Cham- ber of Commerce. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Frizzel called on Captain Ted Burgnon representing the California Highway Patrol and Becky Harrison from the Automo- bile Club of Southern California, along with Police Chief Ken Fortier, who presented 10851 Awards to ten Riverside Police Officers. Mayor Frizzel presented a Proclamation to Nancy Wenzel, Chair of the Cultural Awareness Week Activities, proclaiming the week of May 10-16, 1993, as Cultural Awareness Week. Mayor Frizzel read a Proclamation proclaiming the week of May 9-15, 1993, as National Historic Preservation Week in Riv- erside. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item, with the ex- ception of Councilmember Clifford requesting that his vote be shown as "No" on the extension of the City Hall interior plantscape maintenance contract.
