Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: A moment of silence was requested by Councilmember Clarke. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of March 9, 1993, were approved as submitted. The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Andy Soto representing the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Bill Dye rep- resenting the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Jay Baldwin rep- resenting the Downtown Chamber of Commerce, Ed Fuhrman repre- senting the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce, Dennis Johnson representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce and Juan Santoe representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of Commerce. INTRODUCTION Mayor Frizzel called upon the City Attorney, who introduced the new Assistant City Attorney, Greg Priamos. FURTHER JOINT PUBLIC HEARING WITH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY - SUB- LEASE AGREEMENT WITH GREATER RIVERSIDE CHAMBERS OF COERCE FOR SPACE LEASED BY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY IN LORING OFFICE BUILDING 9 A.M.--Further joint hearing of the City Council and the Rede- velopment Agency was called to consider a Sublease Agreement with the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce for space on the third floor leased by the Redevelopment Agency in the Loring Of- fice Building, located at the northwest corner of Seventh and Main Streets. This hearing was continued from March 9, 1993, and earlier today at the request of staff. A written report was submitted from the City Manager, the Executive Director of the Redevelopment Agency and the Deputy Development Director recom- mending that the City Council (1) find that the proposed sub- lease with the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce is consis- tent with existing terms and conditions in the Riverside commercial leasing market and that the Redevelopmerit Agency is receiving fair market value in the transaction; and (2) approve the sublease of a portion of the Redevelopment Agency's lease- hold in~ere~ in ~he toting O~fce ~ullafng consistent with the report of the Agency's Executive Director. The Agency's Execu- tive Director and the Deputy Development Director discussed the proposal and answered questions of the City Council. One person was present wishing to speak on the matter. No protests, writ- ten or oral, were presented. Following discussion, the hearing was officially closed; and the recommendations were approved as presented.
