CITY OF RIVEk_IDE <br /> <br />Minutes of <br />Date of Meeting: <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />March 16, 1993 <br />9 A.M. <br />Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />A moment of silence was requested by Councilmember Clarke. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of March 9, 1993, were approved as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Andy Soto <br />representing the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Bill Dye rep- <br />resenting the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Jay Baldwin rep- <br />resenting the Downtown Chamber of Commerce, Ed Fuhrman repre- <br />senting the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Commerce, Dennis <br />Johnson representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce and Juan <br />Santoe representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Mayor Frizzel called upon the City Attorney, who introduced the <br />new Assistant City Attorney, Greg Priamos. <br /> <br />FURTHER JOINT PUBLIC HEARING WITH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY - SUB- <br />LEASE AGREEMENT WITH GREATER RIVERSIDE CHAMBERS OF COERCE FOR <br />SPACE LEASED BY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY IN LORING OFFICE BUILDING <br />9 A.M.--Further joint hearing of the City Council and the Rede- <br />velopment Agency was called to consider a Sublease Agreement <br />with the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce for space on the <br />third floor leased by the Redevelopment Agency in the Loring Of- <br />fice Building, located at the northwest corner of Seventh and <br />Main Streets. This hearing was continued from March 9, 1993, <br />and earlier today at the request of staff. A written report was <br />submitted from the City Manager, the Executive Director of the <br />Redevelopment Agency and the Deputy Development Director recom- <br />mending that the City Council (1) find that the proposed sub- <br />lease with the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce is consis- <br />tent with existing terms and conditions in the Riverside <br />commercial leasing market and that the Redevelopmerit Agency is <br />receiving fair market value in the transaction; and (2) approve <br />the sublease of a portion of the Redevelopment Agency's lease- <br />hold in~ere~ in ~he toting O~fce ~ullafng consistent with the <br />report of the Agency's Executive Director. The Agency's Execu- <br />tive Director and the Deputy Development Director discussed the <br />proposal and answered questions of the City Council. One person <br />was present wishing to speak on the matter. No protests, writ- <br />ten or oral, were presented.
