Motion X~ <br /> Second ~ ~X~ <br /> All Ayes <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Andrew Brooks representing the Down- <br />town Chamber of Commerce, Tom Pevehouse representing the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber <br />of Commerce, MarJorte von Pohle representing the La Sierra Chamber of Commerce and Gary <br />Cordrey representing the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Councilmember Loveridge entered at this time. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for considera- <br />tion, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item, with Motion <br />the exception of the report relative to renewal of Library liability insurance which was Second <br />removed from the Agenda. All Ayes <br /> <br />PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />TIME EXTENSION ON CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL - ZONING CASE R-014-g90 - ARLINGTON AND NEIL <br /> <br />A communication was presented from Barbara Smeltzer, Office Manager, J. F. Davidson Asso- <br />ciates, Inc., on behalf of A. A. International, Inc., requesting a time extension in <br />which to complete the conditions of approval under Zoning Case R-014-890, relating to ap- <br />proximately 0.59 acre of land situated on the northwest corner of Arlington Avenue and <br />Nell Street. The City Council approved a zone change from Zone R-1-65 to Zone AIR on <br />November 7, 1989; and this is the first request for a time extension. This case has <br />been active less than five years and is eligible for a time extension without a public <br />hearing. The time extension was granted to November 7, 1993, retroactive to November 7, <br />1991. <br /> <br />PURCHASING SERVICES MANAGER <br /> <br />BID NO. 4951 - WATER QUALITY CONTROL PLANT NO. 2 AERATION MODIFICATIONS <br />In consideration of the recommendatiqn from the Purchasing Services Manager and the Pub- <br />lic Works Department, the bid of Pascal & Ludwig Engineers, in the amount of ~1,295,401 <br />for Lump Sum plus Alternate 1 and 2, was accepted for furnishing all labor, materials <br />and equipment for the work of aeration modifications for Water Quality Control Plant <br />No. 2. All other bids were rejected, and the bonds submitted with said rejected bids <br />were released from further liability; the City Attorney was requested to prepare the <br />necessary contract; and execution of the contract was authorized and directed upon ap- <br />proval by the City Attorney of the required performance bonds. Further, a written re- <br />port was submitted from the City Manager and the Public Works Director, concurred in by <br />the Assistant City Manager-Development, recommending that the City Council appropriate <br />,800,000 from the Unappropriated Balance of the Sewer Projects Fund to Nitrogen Removal <br />Account 551-741290-440301-40131 for the Water Quality Control Plant No. 2 aeration basin <br />modifications. The recommendation was approved as presented. <br /> <br />BID NO. 4973 - ASPHALT PATCHING TRUCK - PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, STREETS DIVISION <br />In consideration of the recommendation from the Purchasing Services Manager, the Public <br />Works Department and the Fleet Management Superintendent, the bid of Haaker Equipment <br />Company, in the amount of ~75,391.60, was accepted for furnishing and delivering to the <br />Public Works Department, Streets Division, one current model asphalt patching truck. <br />All other bids were rejected; and the Purchasing Services Manager was authorized to pro- <br />ceed with the purchase by Purchase Order. <br /> <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> <br /> ACCEPTING OFFERS TO DEDICATE - RALEY DRIVE - RESOLUTION <br /> A written report was submitted from the City Manager and the Assistant City Manager, <br />concurred in by the Public Works Director, recommending that the City Council adopt the <br /> <br />78-295 <br /> <br /> <br />
