MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of December 13 and 14, 1993, were approved as presented. The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Dee Gip- son-Jimenez representing the Magnolia Center Chamber of Com- merce. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. CITY PLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE CU-009-934 - ABILITY COUNTS, INC. - 1601-1699 IOWA A communication was presented from the City Planning Commis- sion advising that, on Nov~er 18, 1993, the Cc~m~ission, by a vote of 7 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the request of Ability Counts, Inc., Zoning Case CU-009-934, for a conditional use permit to establish a material processing fa- cility within a 20,000-square-foot portion of an existing in- dustrial building on 8.72 acres of land developed with indus- trial buildings at 1601-1699 Iowa Avenue, situated at the southwest corner of Iowa and Marlborough Avenues, in Zones MP-SP; and determined that the proposal would not have a sig- nificant adverse effect on the environment. The Commiesion's approval was upheld by the City Council. PI~&~qNING DEP/~a~4ENT TIM~ EXT. - ZONING CASE RZ-028-890 - 7166 AND 7172 INDIANA A communication was presented from Eileen Miller Balogh re- questing a ti~e extension in which to complete the conditions of approval under Zoning Case RZ-028-890, relating to two par- cels totaling approximately .45 acre of land at 7166 and 7172 Indiana Avenue, situated on the southeasterly side of In- diana Avenue approximately 400 feet southwesterly of Washing- ton Street. The City Council approved a zone change from Zone R-1-65 to Zones C-3-S-2-X-10 on November 28, 1989; and this is the third request for a time extension. This case has been active less than five years and is eligible for a time exten- sion without a public hearing. The time extension was granted to November 28, 1994, retroactive to November 28, 1993. Any additional request for a time extension will require a public hearing.
