CITY OF RIVE,_.~IDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: November 9, 1993 <br />Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. <br />Place of Meeting= Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Marjorie von Pohle from the audi- <br />ence. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of October 26, 1993, were approved <br />as presented. <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Steve <br />Reeves representing the Greater Riverside Chambers of Com- <br />merce, Gary Cordrey representing the University-Canyon Crest <br />Chamber of Commerce, Dickey DeLoss representing the Magnolia <br />Center Chamber of Commerce and Morris Landers representing the <br />La Sierra Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />The Mayor also recognized the presence of Sue Miller from Con- <br />gressman Ken Calvert's office. <br /> <br />Councilmember Loveridge entered at this time. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Frizzel presented a new Police Department badge to Po- <br />lice Chief Fortier and accepted the retirement of his old <br />badge. The Police Department is retiring its old badges and <br />the badge numbers of officers killed in the line of duty, and <br />officers will begin wearing the new badges. <br /> <br />The Mayor read a Proclamation proclaiming November 13 as Cali- <br />fornia Citizenship Day in the City of Riverside. <br /> <br />The Mayor presented a Proclamation to the Riverside Optimists <br />proclaiming the week of November 8-12 as Riverside Optimists <br />for Youth Appreciation Week--Outstanding Youth. Representa- <br />tives of the Riverside Optimists introduced outstanding stu- <br />dents. <br /> <br />Mayor Frizzel presented a Proclamation to Sandy Morse, Direc- <br />tor of Community and Professional Education, Community Hospice <br />Care, Inc., declaring November as National Hospice Month. <br /> <br />The Mayor called upon Councilmember Defenbaugh who presented a <br />plaque to the City of Riverside from the Riverside Area Rape <br />Crisis Center in appreciation for its years of support. <br /> <br />ITEM TAKEN OUT OF ORDER FROM THE PRINTED AGENDA <br /> <br />MORRIS MENDOZA, A.I.R.
